The Grounds of Alexandria is a place where people come to thrive. Located in a former industrial precinct from the 1920s, The Grounds has been artfully transformed into three separate but distinct spaces: The Garden, The Roastery and The Potting Shed. Each space has been beautifully crafted with a blend of contemporary meets rustic design elements. Inspired by a holistic seed-to-plate philosophy The Grounds is a sensory feast that provides an abundance of wholesome experiences all within an inner city oasis.

THE VENUES

THE ROAST ERY

The main dining room and covered terrace are the heart of The Grounds. This former 1900s pie factory has been transformed by interior designer Caroline Choker into a stylish dining area featuring rustic kitchen cabinets, bare metal pillars, original wooden beams, shiny New York subway tiling and lavish sage leather banquettes. The area has a ‘country kitchen’ feel and is infused with the aroma of in-house freshly roasted coffee. The space offers two service points for beverages, with full view and access to the kitchen and an adjoining terrace for up to 20 people standing. For more formal occasions, the dining room also offers a central point for speeches with easy access to electrical points for AV presentations. THE VENUES

The Garden

The jewel in our offering, The Grounds' abundant organic garden is overflowing with heirloom vegetables, edible flowers, fragrant herbs, fresh fruit, a small brood of chickens and our celebrity miniature pig; Kevin Bacon. A crumbling brick wall covered with creeping vines provides the perimeter for the garden that offers both an urban sanctuary and a daily source of fresh produce for the kitchen to use in their seasonally inspired menus. The garden includes an outdoor dance floor and ceremony space, large gazebo and alfresco bar. There is scope to transform this area with styling and brand installations and it has the capacity to feature a main entertainment stage, or a marquee.

THE ATRIUM

The Atrium is the latest events space that is a part of Sydney’s newest venue The Potting Shed. Remaining true to The Grounds impeccable design aesthetic, this beautifully styled indoor garden atrium is a fresh, light and charming entertaining space privately located within the The Potting Shed. Enveloped in greenery this romantic space is Parisian inspired with a rustic nursery tone that features wooden tables, bentwood chairs and distressed linens against a backdrop of sage and cream wall paneling, brass finishes and green accents. Be one of the first to experience the unique beauty of our newest events space.

E vent st y ling Bespoke styling is available on request. This is charged at an hourly rate with additional costs of any materials at the clients expense. Our events team can provide a quotation upon request. T H E F LO R I S T The Florist at The Grounds is our exclusive supplier for all events, specialising in grazing table installations, floral centre pieces and floral styling. Our events team can provide a quotation for your next event. C O N F I R M I N G YO U R E V E N T All tentative bookings will be held for a period of five (5) working days. Bookings will be released after this time unless a signed booking form and 50% deposit of the minimum spend is recieved . All payments for your event can be made by credit card or direct deposit. Please note; cheques are not accepted. Credit card payments incur a surcharge which will be outlined in your tax invoice. Final confirmation of guest numbers is to be made by the client ten (10) working days prior to the event date. C A N C E L L AT I O N P O L I C Y All cancellations must be recieved in writing and the following penalties apply; 8 months prior - full refund of the deposit paid 6 months prior - 50% refund of the deposit 4 months prior - full deposit is withheld S taff Our staffing-levels are based on a ratio of 1:20 for all wait staff. The Grounds will supply a minimum of one supervisor and one event coordinator per booking.

VENUE INSPECTIONS Venue inspections are available by appointment with our Events Team from Monday to Friday. S U R C H A R G E Public holidays incur a 10% surcharge C leaning Cleaning is not included in your event fee. A cleaning fee applies for all events over 50 guests and additional fees may occur for excessive rubbish removal or cleaning. E q uipment hire The Grounds existing furniture, cutlery, linen, napkins, glassware and crockery are included at no additional cost. S ecurit y To ensure the safety of all our guests, it is compulsory for security to be on site for all events over 100 people. Security staff are paid at a set rate of $60* per hour for event service. This is an additonal cost to the client. E ntertainment & A udiovisual The Grounds offers general audio visual equipment including an iPod dock supported by our in-house sound system. Additional audio visual equipment can be ordered with our preferred external suppliers at the clients request and expense. E V E N T T I M E S Breakfast events from 7am, lunch events from 12pm and evening events from 6pm. All bump in for events is one hour prior. Any extended set up time needed must be approved by management and will incur additional costs.
