Welcome to Cannon School September 24, 2021 Dear SAIS Visiting Team, On behalf of our learning community, I thank you for the investment you are making in the growth of our school, our profession, and the lives of our students and educators today and tomorrow. We aim for your experience with us to reflect the heart of our G. Christopher Jones school and exude tangible examples of our ethos. Our culture is grounded in a deep commitment to, and a lived experience of, our mission every day. It is reinforced by individuals, leaders, and teams, who not only profess our values but who more importantly expect to live by them every day. And it is strengthened by a belief that as a school and community, we have not arrived, but that we are always growing while seeking new ways to contribute to Cannon’s impact in our world. In that spirit, we are excited to learn alongside you during your visit on October 24-26. As Co-Chairs of this effort, Beth Wilner and Fabio Hurtado have led a strong team of educators to support your time with us and prepare our community for the growth opportunity your visit presents. Amid an international crisis and leadership transition, this extended period of preparation and reflection allowed us to develop a clear strategy, and we are eager to discuss it with you. We have tried to think of everything, recognizing your time with us is precious. We wish to make your visit as convenient and productive as possible, so please let us know if you need anything.
