Archiving Our Present We’re living through history.

Sydney Ross Over the last few months, we’ve consistently heard the words, “We’re living through history.” We’ve personally experienced this in many different ways, with a Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2020 unlike anything before, happy hours and reunions via Zoom calls, and a new way of life we couldn’t have possibly imagined. But I believe that these moments, which seem so crazy today, will become treasured memories from this unique time in our lives.

This issue of Cannon Magazine has captured the importance of archiving our present to preserve it for our future. As we round out our 50th anniversary year, we need to continue to focus on building our archives for more than just this past year. We also need to capture memories from years past and years that are yet to come.

Our archive includes history to remember, stories to retell, and moments to relive. We must take the time to cherish these and collect them for future generations. As alumni manager, I want to make sure all your stories are heard and enjoyed. I call on you to share any photos or memorabilia—such as an old CTC program or a jersey—that we can preserve for years to come. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to reach out.
