Our turkeys all come from UK farms and many are reared locally. We provide free range bronze and traditional white varieties as well as geese, ducks and a variety of English game.

Our lambs thrive on the rich natural pastures around Cannon Hall Farm, producing delicious meat with a wonderful depth of taste.

Traditional farming and butchery methods, handed down through generations, provide some of the finest quality produce you’ll taste anywhere. We’re confident that once you’ve tasted the difference you won’t want to buy your food elsewhere.

Our pigs live contented lives and produce exceptional pork. Our sows come from a breed specially developed to produce pork with tenderness, flavour and just a little more fat, that keeps meat succulent during cooking.

Our cattle come from suckler herds, spending the first year of their lives with their mothers, giving them the very best start in life. We only use breeds developed for beef production and dry age our beef for four weeks providing cuts of optimum quality, full of taste and meltingly tender.

Our master butchers make delicious sausages in more than 20 different flavours. Traditional pork is still our best seller and an ideal breakfast sausage. Our farm shop produces over a ton of sausages every week!


Christmas has always been a special time at Cannon Hall Farm. Over the years things have changed a lot, but it’s always nostalgic to remember the good old days. Back before the farm opened to the public, the family would rear over 200 turkeys and sell them to locals. It was hard work and the kids were expected to help, but looking back we remember the laughs and jokes more than the sore fingers and numbing cold. Gifts were bought with that ‘turkey money’ and often included a big present for all the kids (secretly, I think the adults liked the idea too), a table tennis table, miniature snooker table or table football. As a family we always played

together and worked together and we want your family Christmas to be just as magical as ours. Nowadays, Christmas means it’s full steam ahead in the Farm Shop as we assemble hundreds of orders to make sure your Christmas is really special. Only the very best local turkeys, home grown beef, pork and lamb go into your Christmas shopping basket. We’ve got a great range of gifts too, especially for lovers of delicious food and drink. Why not indulge a loved one with a luxury hamper? It’s a really personal gift, as you choose the contents and we wrap them beautifully.

INGREDIENTS BRINE RECIPE • 6kg Turkey • 7l Water • 1 Cinnamon stick • 6 Cloves • 5 Star anise • 3tbsp Maple syrup • 3 tbsp honey • 300g Sea salt • 1 Bouquet garni • 1 Orange cut in half • 1 Onion cut into quarters • 10 Black pepper corns • Parsley stalks GLAZE • 100g Butter • 50g Goose fat • 3 tbsp Maple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS • Leave turkey in the brine for 20 hours or overnight. • Take turkey out of brine on the day of cooking and pat it dry with paper towel. • Pre heat oven to 180°c, rub the goose fat over the turkey and cook for about ½ an hour. • Melt the butter then add the maple syrup. Pour over the turkey. Keep basting the turkey every 20 minutes. • When turkey is cooked pierce with a Sharpe knife to see if juices run clear. COOKING TIMES • 4.5Kg Turkey - 2 hours • 5.5Kg Turkey - 2 ¼ hours • 7.5 Kg Turkey - 3 hours Guide only - always check to see if the juices run clear

WE SPECIALISE IN HOME MADE PIES PACKED FULL OF MEAT PRODUCED HERE ON THE FARM Our party pies are the perfect option if you need to cater for a crowd without too much fuss. They are available in a variety of flavours to feed up to 12 people. We also produce party size quiches, crumbles and lasagne, taking the stress out of entertaining at those festive family events. Our large party pie (pictured) costs just £26.95 and serves 10/12.

Our smaller pie serves 6/8 and costs £20.95. Choose from chicken and mushroom, steak, meat and potato, minced steak and ale, steak and kidney and steak mushroom and Guinness. These have to be prepared in advance so call us at the farm shop on 01226 792746 to place your order.
