Community Center: Munch

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
Munch was a community center project designed in groups of two as our final studio project. The purpose of the project was to design a community center at the intersection of Bloor St W and Bathurst where the notorious, Honest Eds was situated. The goal was to design a community center that would bring the community together while achieving one of the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals. The goal chosen was to end hunger, which tied into our concept of zero. Munch demonstrated the UN goal and concept by having a soup kitchen, cooking classes, and numerous clubs to assist with food waste and food sufficiency. and a gardening club. During this term, this project came third in a material competition hosted by Consentino. The objective was to incorporate their material into the design. All images illustrated throughout are to showcase the final design of the space and what was presented for the completion. Design and illustrations were done in partnership with Klea Paco.

This project also competed in the Wilsonart Material competition, which meant we had to use their products throughout the store. The images presented to showcase the final outcome of the project are illustrated in our class presentation. As well as some materials and renders submitted to compete in the Wilsonart competition. LOCATION: Oshawa, ON

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
In this proposed kitchen located in Oshawa, On, the design was required to be modern and elegant. The client wanted to modernize the kitchen by changing the cabinet colours, appliances, and, hardware. The client also wanted to repaint their living room. This was the first time I have designed a slopped-style roof, and it was wonderful. With this kitchen design, I wanted to keep the cleanliness of modern design. To apply the request of elegance, the gold hardware and stainless steel appliance were a great touch and was loved by the client.
