Mowing a lawn at a high height shades the soil. This shade deters weeds from growing and helps keep the soil moist. Â

Generally, a lawn requires approximately 1 inch of water per week. Water only a couple of times per week vs.a daily watering. Be sure to adjust your watering based on the weekly rainfall you receive.

Aeration

Fertilizer

A dull lawn mower blade will tear your grass blades instead of cut them. The cut of a dull blade stresses a lawn, which can cause disease or other lawn problems. Sharpen your blade at least once a year or as needed.

An often skipped step in lawn care is aeration. However, this is one of the most important tasks you can do for the health of your lawn. Aeration (putting holes in your lawn) allows nutrients, oxygen, and water to get down to the root system.

Fertilizer provides a lawn with essential nutrients to help it thrive. It will help deter diseases and promotes thick, green grass growth.
