SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24
Snow Day 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Summit Ski Area 90255 Government Camp Loop Government Camp, OR 97028
Come join us for a day on the mountain! We will be bundling up and heading out to spend a day tubing in the snow. We will cover buses, snacks, and rental fees, you just come and have fun! This event is 100% free to families, and we would love to see you there. There are only 150 spots! This event will be first come, first serve, and we will keep a wait list as well. RSVP by Saturday, February 17th and provide the following: First and last names of everyone attending and a phone number. Important Registration Information: 1. Choose either the Candlelighters Office (7:45 am) or Damascus Safeway (8:45 am) location where you will catch the bus in the morning. This will be the same bus and location you will return to in the afternoon/ evening. There is limited seating on the bus, so it will be first come, first serve.
Candlelighters For Children With Cancer publishes Candlelighters FAMILY Connections six times a year to provide news and other information to families affected by cancer in Oregon and SW Washington.
2. The buses leave the Candlelighters Office (5440 SW Westgate Dr., Portland) at 7:50 am and continue on to Damscus to pick up there. Buses leave Damascus Safeway parking lot (20151 SE Hwy 212, Damascus) at 8:50 am. 3. Allow yourself extra time so you do not miss your bus. We are on a tight schedule and will not be able to wait for late arrivals! 4. Families must sign a liability waiver prior or at the event. While this event is great fun for families, and our hosts take what precautions they can, there are inherent risks while playing or tubing in the snow. Therefore, this event will be a “participate at your own risk” event. 5. Wear warm winter clothes, boots, and gloves! 6. There are no bathrooms on the bus but there are bathrooms available in the lodge at Government Camp. 7. If you choose to drive your own vehicle to the park rather than ride the bus, please contact Karsen for directions. You will need to purchase a Snow Park Permit, and bring along traction devices if road conditions require it. We expect to arrive at the snow park around 10:30 am and will leave the park at approximately 2:30 pm, arriving in Damascus for the first drop off, and continuing on to the Candlelighters office for the last drop off.
