THE BUSINESS PLAN

The school leadership team, staff and Board have collectively recognised the need for a robust improvement agenda for Canberra Montessori School. This 2024-2026 Business Plan is our medium-term plan which outlines our broad intent for improvement, including milestones and targets. School targets and milestones have been established in academic and non-academic domains and shared with students, parents, families and staff. We will hold ourselves accountable for the results that we achieve, using rigorous self-assessment practices and regular monitoring to make judgements about our effectiveness.

Our school staff are committed to building positive relationships, with the motivation to pursue excellence. Our dedicated and professional teachers maintain an environment which supports each child every day to achieve their personal best. Staff employ evidence-based strategies within a wholeschool approach to maximise the effect they have on student learning. We constantly aim to deliver the highest standards of pastoral care and support services in order to enable our students to thrive.

The Plan has student engagement and achievement at its core and an emphasis on quality teaching practice. We trust that upon reading this Business Plan you will agree that Canberra Montessori School is moving forward.

Dr Maria Montessori’s words have been a driving force behind the design of our Business Plan.
As she says, “To think and to wish is not enough. It is action which counts.”
