Shelly Antony is making his Shakespeare in High Park debut. Frank Chung - Demetrius
Frank Chung is a Korean-Canadian artist based in Toronto and has appeared in various stage and screen productions throughout Ontario. This will be Frank’s second time performing for Shakespeare in High Park and he is forever grateful to Jamie, Jordan and the Canadian Stage team for giving him another opportunity to once again dream under the stars. Canadian Stage credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (dir. Tanja Jacobs), Romeo and Juliet (dir. Frank Cox-O’Connell). 郝邦宇 Steven Hao is a Tkaronto-based actor, director and writer excited to make his high park debut this summer. Canadian Stage credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other theatre credits include: Cockroach (Tarragon); King Lear (Shakespeare Bash’d); Three Sisters (Howland); Storybook Search (BadHats); Trojan Girls and the Outhouse of Atreus (Factory/OtM); The Chinese Lady (Crows/Studio 180/fu-GEN); Dragon’s Tale (Tapestry). Steven was recently listed by Glenn Sumi as one of the breakthrough Toronto stage artists of 2022. He is currently writing his original stage play Linsanity. He’s gonna leave his instagram towards the end of this bio in hopes that you will befriend him, he promises he’s mostly harmless. @steven_haoby.
Stuart Hefford - Lysander
Stuart Hefford is a Toronto-based actor and graduate of the University of Toronto and Sheridan College’s joint theatre & drama studies program. Some recent appearances on stage include She Stoops to Conquer (Guild Festival Theatre) and Stag & Doe (Capitol Theatre). Stuart has also appeared recently on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries and will soon be appearing on Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys. He is tremendously excited to be making his Shakespeare in High Park debut.

Ryan G. Hinds - Peter Quince/Oberon’s Fairy. Vocal Captain Ryan G. Hinds is an award-winning actor/director who has performed #KanderAndEbb (Stratford Festival); We Will Rock You (Magnus Theatre); MacArthur Park Suite: A Disco Ballet (Buddies in Bad Times); and Hedwig & the Angry Inch (Capitol). Ryan is also an Associate Artist at lemonTree Creations, performing Lydie-Anne in Lilies; Or, The Revival of a Romantic Drama; MSM [men seeking men]; and Private Eyes. Directing includes Bright Lights (Shaw Festival, Neil Munro Directing Intern), Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (Theatre New Brunswick) and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Vanier College). Vincent Leblanc-Beaudoin - Flute/Mustardseed
Vincent is a two-time Jessie Award winning and a multiple Dora Award nominated actor and theatre maker. He has an Honours B.A. with Specialization in Theatre from the University of Ottawa, is a graduate of Studio 58, and he has completed The Clown Farm’s summer intensive. This is Vincent’s Canadian Stage debut! He has worked with theatre companies across Canada, notably le Théâtre Français de Toronto, Corpus, Dusk Dances, BoucharDanse, DLT, Talk is Free Theatre, Théâtre la Seizième, and Rumble Theatre. His film & TV credits include Makinium (Radio-Canada), Zik (TFO) Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (Bravo Network) and Abigaëlle et le date coaching (Unis). Megan Legesse – Helena
Megan is an actor and mover born and based in Toronto, Ontario. She loves rainy mornings and brass in every song she hears. This is her Canadian Stage acting debut. She trained at York University’s Acting Conservatory.

Angel Lo - Starvling/Cobweb
Angel Lo is an actor and improviser from Calgary based in Toronto and is very excited to make their Canadian Stage debut :) Recent Stage credits include: Midsummer Night’s Dream (Panoply Collective); Insert Clown Here (Terra Firma Festival); Losing it at the End of the World (IDGAF Theatre); and Agapi Sti Fury (Theatre Calgary, Page to Stage Festival). Angel is currently trying to sport climb as much as possible in order to justify a recent impulse purchase.

Jadyn Nasato - Hermia
Jadyn Nasato is a Filipina-Italian Actor, Musician, and Creator based in Toronto Canada. She is a graduate of York University’s Theatre program, earning a BFA with Specialized Honours in Acting, and is pursuing a career in both Theatre and Film & Television. Her most recent on-stage work includes Everybody by Brandon Jacobs Jenkins (Dir. Courtney Lancaster), The Late Wedding by Christopher Chen (Dir. Jamie Robinson), and Billy and the Dreamerz (Dir. Neil Coombs, Grace Kosaka). Jadyn is always eager to bring boundless stories to life and is excited to be diving into a classic Shakespearean tale, exploring the mystifying world of Hermia. She is represented by Denise Guthrie at GlickmanAlexander Talent Management.
Julie Tepperman - Aegesta/Snug/Peaseblossom
Canadian Stage Debut! Julie Tepperman is a Dora Award-winning actor, playwright, arts educator, and Co-Artistic Leader ( with her husband “Bottom”) of the immersively-curious Convergence Theatre. Julie has acted on stages across the city and spent two seasons at The Stratford Festival, where she remains a regular Teaching Shakespeare Artist. She recently concluded The Riot at Christie Pits with Hogtown. As a playwright, Julie has been supported by numerous theatres, having had 10 plays produced to date. On a personal note: “It takes a ‘shtetl’ to care for children while both mom & dad are in the same show! Endless gratitude to: Jamie R., Chris O., Emma L., Natasha R., Amy T., Bubie & Zaida, and especially Cassandra & Elliot.”
Aaron Willis - Bottom
Canadian Stage Debut. Aaron Willis is a Dora-nominated actor and director, as well as an arts educator and Co-Artistic Leader (with his wife “Snug”) of the immersively-curious Convergence Theatre. Aaron has worked at theatres across the city including Soulpepper, Tarragon, Modern Times, Roseneath, Factory, and Theatre Passe Muraille. Aaron served as Associate Artistic Director at the Musical Stage Company and was part of the inaugural Michael Langham workshop for Classical Theatre Direction at the Stratford Festival. Thanks to the whole ‘shtetl’, without whom neither Bottom nor Snug would be in the play! Love to Cassandra and Elliot.
Louisa Zhu - Titania/Hippolita. Fight Captain
Louisa is Dora and ACTRA Award-nominated actor and performance combat artist based in Toronto. Recent theatre credits include: Lady Sunrise (Factory Theatre), The Silver Arrow (Citadel Theatre), Reflector (Theatre Gargantua), and Sex Tape Project (fu-GEN). You can hear her voicing one of the lead roles on the Netflix animated series Transformers: Botbots, and in the new series Kiya and the Kimoja Heroes on Disney+. You can also catch them as a regular on Rising Suns (OMNI); throughout two seasons of Endlings (CBC/Hulu) and in the upcoming film Relax, I’m From the Future, which is slated for release this fall. Louisa is also a martial artist and a Certified Fight Instructor with Fight Directors Canada.

Jamie Robinson - Director
Jamie’s first professional acting gig was in High Park’s 1997 production of Romeo & Juliet. He has since performed or assisted here five other summers, including 2019’s productions of Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick) and Measure for Measure (Provost). Director credits include: 1184 (Aga Khan/Phoenix Arts), Madness with Rocks (CBC/Obsidian Theatre), Copy That (Tarragon Theatre), Scotian Journey (Black Theatre Workshop), She Stoops to Conquer and Romeo & Juliet (Guild Festival Theatre, also as Artistic Director). Theatre acting credits include: Stratford Festival of Canada (four seasons), Risky Phil (YPT. Dora Award Winner), Gas Girls (New Harlem Productions. Dora Award Nomination). Jamie is a full-time professor of Acting & Directing in York University’s Theatre and Performance program.
Jordan Laffrenier - Assistant Director
Jordan is an award-winning director, producer, playwright, dramaturg and educator. He is currently the Associate Artistic Director of Canadian Stage and Prime Mover Theatre Company. He has held many musical theatre development roles in New York City, Los Angeles, and Toronto. Jordan is the founding Artistic Director of Then They Fight Theatre, a dramaturgically based theatre company dedicated to developing new work from the initial spark of an idea into a fully realized production. He is an advocate of theatre that supports the community on and off stage and has partnered theatre productions directly with local charities.
Eden Ulnick - Research Assistant Director
Eden Ulnik is a third year York University Student studying theatre and specializing in devised theatre, directing, playwriting and physical theatre. This is Eden’s first time working for Canadian Stage as a Research Assistant Director for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Other theatre credits include: Chorus performer for internship workshop for Erased (Open Heart Surgery); Playwright for stage reading of BoyTrend (V-Day Festival York University); Performer and Co-Deviser for SoundMixing (PlayGround Festival York University); Assistant prop designer for Rocky Horror Picture Show (Hart House Theatre): Set designer for Oh Hey Carrie (PlayGround Festival York University); Performer in upcoming Thistle Gardens (Fringe Festival 2023).

Jackie Chau - Set & Costume Designer
Jackie has worked as a set and costume designer in over 200 productions across Canada and internationally. Selected credits: The Hours That Remain, Serving Elizabeth, The Gig (Theatre Aquarius) Almighty Voice and His Wife, Tombs of the Vanishing Indian, HUFF (NEPA), Gas Girls, The First Stone (New Harlem Productions), Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Canadian Stage), Lady Sunrise, Wildfire, The Waltz (Factory Theatre), Cowboy Versus Samurai, 39 Steps, Oraltorio (Soulpepper), The Komagata Maru Incident (Stratford Festival), and Dragon’s Tale (Tapestry Opera). Jackie has received 9 Dora nominations for outstanding set and costume design. She has been a resident artist with ARC since 2013. She teaches Theatrical Design at the University of Toronto and at York University.
Logan Raju Cracknell - Lighting Designer Logan Raju Cracknell is a Toronto based theatre artist specializing in theatrical design and live stream creation. Their work has taken them across the country and they are excited to see what journeys lie ahead. Richard Feren - Sound Designer & Composer
Richard has been creating music and soundscapes for theatre, dance & film since 1992. He has won seven Dora Awards, the 1999 Pauline McGibbon Award, and was the first sound designer ever shortlisted for the Siminovitch Prize in 2012.
