WELCOME to our 28th Annual Bull and Female Sale. We would like to express a sincere thank you to all the support of our customers throughout the years of operation and look for forward to meeting new connections and friends. The past year has been a challenge for the agricultural sector with the brutal winter, drought and trying to secure enough feed, and for those of us calving in colder weather it is indeed a challenge. Nevertheless, it is so rewarding each spring to see Rhett Hunter the benefits of the previous breeding season when those calves draw their first breath. New Herdsm Each year involves change in some regards, Ric Arthurs who usually consigns has chosen an Arrived April 10 , 2018 to cut back on some work load on the purebred side of things and he wish him the best as he continues with his love of his cattle. We also added a new herdsman when Jared and Garilyn welcomed son Rhett just a few days after last year’s sale. One constant is the quality of cattle we strive to provide for your inspection through culling for calving ease, performance, fertility, temperament, udders and feet and eye appeal. As you prose through the catalog, we have a great selection of cattle to meet the criteria you have set for your own herd, whether it be for a calving ease bull, high performance bull, a fancy open heifer or quality commercial replacements we have something for everyone. Our calves are raised without creep on natural pasture conditions to provide as true as possible expression of genetic potential. The bulls are wintered on a ration of silage, chopped hay, rolled oats and a custom formulated bull supplement to insure longevity and future soundness. By sale day the bulls will have received Fusogard footrot vaccine and booster, passed a semen test and updated scrotal measurements will be available sale day. The replacement females will be palpated for breeding soundness. We are having a video sale with DLMS once again at the farm located 5 miles east of the Didsbury overpass off QE II on Highway 582. All lots will be displayed outside sale day and you are welcome to view the herd anytime, we would be happy to tour and answer any questions. Any animals staying are strongly recommended to be insured by the purchaser sale day. Delivery will be available at our convenience. If you take your purchase home sale day or within a week of the sale, receive a $50 discount per lot. Please give complete instructions at the settle up desk at the conclusion of the sale.
