The City Hub 2023

The Space for Those Forgotten

For my 5th fall semester studio, my instructor was Deborah Pittman. This studio was focused on the creation of a hub to bring the city’s inhabitants to its center. We were required to design in Rhino and to create a minor and major order to serve as a multi-use project attached to a train station.

Train Station Waiting Area

I chose to focus on the discrimination of Black and Brown people in the city of Lubbock and aim to provide a space that can be of positive influence to them.

A reminder of mother natures beauty

For my 1st fall semester Interior Design Studio, my instructor was Diane Adams. The studio was focused on some initial drafting lessons and the interior design of a 1940 build located in Marfa, Texas.

As I began to study interior design later in my architectural journey, this studio simply helped me to obtain a deeper understanding of the interior design world and its intricacies

Materials Boards

I choose to focus on the conceptualism of bringing Mother Nature’s elements to the desert area that is Marfa, TX. Using color, shape, texture, and form, I used materials to represent Mother Nature’s beautiful elements.

COMMUNITY

The Restless Market

MORE THAN A MARKET

hopes to promote vendor sales and exposure, the market becomes a place community even during off market seasons and can be used in more ways one. Vendors are known to have a difficult time keeping there sales throughout the year as seasons change. This proposal will provide them opportunities to sell produce year round and venture into other projects.

For my 6th spring semester studio, my professor was Angel Martinez, and this was during my semester studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain. This studio focused on studying the city’s center and the creation of a market within it.

Designing in Rhino and Twinmotion, we were required to produce 4 graphic panels with drawings and diagrams. .

I chose to focus on the creation of a market that would be less of a tourist attraction and more of a beneficial aspect to the community

The building's orientation promotes the use of pathways in all directions to avoid creating a space that would be an interrup tion to the surrounding communi ties’ daily lives.

Market Stall Variations

The project’s vendor stall designs allow for a multitude of uses to avoid stagnant times of sales for vendors.

Served as project leader and worked with another architect and two interior design students. However, the physical model is my sole work. I led in creating the overall building concept and form.

For my 7th fall semester studio, my instructor was Cristi Wier. This studio was planned in collaboration with the interior design students at Texas Tech. The project focused on the creation of a collaborative building between design professions—architecture, interior design, and engineering—on campus.

The Academic Haven 2024

A Tranquil Oasis From the Academic Storm.

We were required to design using Revit and to make physical massing and detailed models. As the leader of my group, I proposed we focus on the creation of an academic haven or a space in which those in these challenging majors can find relaxation in a calming sensory environment.

Through our analysis we found that the new structure would be taking a well-used pathway from students. This led to the overall structure, orientation, and main diagonal pathways, salvaging the use of the site.

This project has been vital in my understanding of architectural and interior design collaboration and project management.
