15 A lofty read for Camrose high school student Wesley McLean! The future UBC engineering student is a warrant officer with the 3068 South Alberta Light Horse in Camrose. He was chosen for the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Mount Everest climbing expedition, which took place last November. The D.N.D. sponsored leadership expedition required extensive physical fitness training, necessary for the challenge of climbing to the Everest Base Camp of the renowned Nepal mountain. The memorable trip included frigid white-water rafting excursions, a bike ride tour through Kathmandu city and other “once-in-a-lifetime” sight-seeing. Along for the trip – The Camrose Booster.
