Frozen Rose Blues Fest displays great talent Continued from page 16

That brought her to the Augustana University in Camrose, where she completed a Bachelor of Music Program. Currently, Jenie is working on an original CD. The afternoon session closes with Tim Williams, who is one of North America’s finest acoustic blues performers. Tim Williams and The Electro-Fires have toured the country, opening for ZZ Top. His trio will be entertaining at the evening show as well. The 7 p.m. evening show begins with Camrose artists. The Myra Marshall Band is a cornerstone of the local blues scene. She is complemented by the Robert Renman’s exquisite guitar work, Brandon Kroeger on drums and John McCune on bass. Jenie returns for her full sound performance before Bryan Strand appears on stage. He has been playing the blues around Western Canada for more than 20 years. His vocal stylings are very versatile, ranging from a blues growl to a Roy Orbison style high tenor. Joining him for this appearance will be veteran musicians Gail Runge on drums, and Dave Botkin on bass. Making a special guest appearance with the band will be Bryan’s long time friend, Curtis Bessette on guitar. Tim Williams and The Electro-Fires follow with the full version of the band's sound. No stranger to Camrose, Rich Hope and His Evil Doers will close the evening. Rich and his partner Adrian Mack play an all out concert of boogie blues. They hit the stage like a tornado and leave it like one just touched down. The festival wraps up on Sunday with an open jam session at 5 p.m. You never know what to expect when that much talent hits the stage at once. This is a free admission jam, so don't miss the opportunity to catch some great artists in action. Weekend passes for the shows on Feb. 1 to 3 are $35 and can be purchased at www. baileytheatre.com, by calling 780-672-5510, or by stopping at the Box Office Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Shirley Ann McEachern Shirley Ann McEachern was born in Drumheller, AB on September 14, 1935 and passed away suddenly on January 21, 2013 at the age of 77. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Gerald; her children Larry (Mercy) of Lacombe, Brian of Sherwood Park, Norm (Cheryl) of Sherwood Park, Rhonda of Trochu and Karen (Ivan) of Round Hill; grandchildren Scott, Randy, Chris, Kyra, Tara, Becky, Keefton, Spencer, Steve and Eleanor; greatgrandchildren Kailea, Ryder, Lily and Seryna; one brother Robert (Auntie Naughty) of Stony Plain; one sister Arlene of Sooke, BC; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Shirley was “Mom” or “Grandma” to many; she had a heart of gold and was loved by all. Her father had many jobs, so they moved around Alberta a lot. They settled in Gainford, AB. Shirley and her brother Robert moved in with Ruth and Hughie McLaughlin and their daughter Arlene when they were 13 and 11 years old. Ruth and Hughie soon became “Mom” and “Dad”. In her working years, Shirley worked at Johnstone-Walker Department Store in Edmonton in the notions, yarn and sewing department and also ran the elevator. She married Gerald, the love of her life, on September 8, 1956 and resided in Gainford at the general store. They and their children moved to an acreage by Sherwood Park and built a house. Then they moved to a farm near Ferintosh and started a dairy until retiring to the Village of Ferintosh in 1996. Shirley loved to garden – flowers were her biggest passion as was shown by all the ribbons hanging on her fridge. She loved to bake and was famous for her bread and cookies. She was very active in the community, loved taking tai chi with Vera, and bowling with the ladies every Wednesday afternoon. We will miss your pumpkin pie, lemon meringue pie, gingersnap cookies, potato salad, stuffing and butter tarts without raisins. Thanks, Mom. We’ll love you forever We’ll like you for always As long as we’re living Our angel you’ll be The runway to Heaven is all lit up for you, and you will be first in line. A memorial service will be held on February 2, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Ferintosh Hall, Ferintosh. Memorial donations can be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Thanks to all for the thoughts, prayers, phone calls and offers of help. –The Family of Shirley McEachern

What flowers say when your heart is too full to express

In loving memory of In loving memory of

John Wolokoff

Erwin Wagner

1940 – 2008 Remember him with a smile today He was not one for tears Reflect instead on memories Of all the happy years Recall to mind the way he spoke And all the things he said His strength, his stance, the way he walked Remember these instead The good advice he’d give us His eyes that shone with laughter So much of him will never die But live on ever after As we loved you, so we miss you In our memory, you are near Loved, remembered, longed for always Bringing many a silent tear

1907 – 2006 One precious to our hearts has gone, The voice we loved is stilled; The place made vacant in our home Can never more be filled, Our Father in His wisdom called The one His love had given, And so on earth the body lies – His soul is safe in Heaven. Ever remembered, wife Mary and families
