Community clubs and service groups are increasingly creative when it comes to fund-raising. Money for worthwhile community projects is often scarce and there is never a shortage of great initiatives to assist. The Camrose Swans & Roses Lions Club is an example of members thinking outside the box in order to raise money to fund projects that help our community as well as provide for international service projects.

“Local retailers have been of significant assistance to our club and the success of the firewood program,” reveals Lion Gary Cunningham. “We’re grateful that Fas Gas, Whistle Stop Golf Course, Tee Pee Trade & RV Centre and Camrose Campground are all willing to sell our bundled spruce”. Swans & Roses firewood is also being marketed in the communities of Killam, Strome, Sedgewick and Viking.
