HOW CAN I ORDER MY iKAMPER CAR ROOF TENT?

The best way would be to order your tent in our online shop at ikamper.de. WILL THE SKYCAMP ROOFTOP TENT FIT ON MY CAR?

The rooftop tent can be mounted onto almost any vehicle that has a minimum dynamic load capacity of 75 kg. All you need are 2 crossbars or a roof rack. The tent comes with its own mounting brackets for securing on these carriers. To reduce the weight on the roof by approx. 6 kg, the ladder of the rooftop tent can be removed during transit. We’ll be happy to provide you with the right load carrier for your vehicle with your order.

MOST CARS HAVE A ROOF LOAD CAPACITY OF 85 KG AND THE ROOFTOP TENT ITSELF WEIGHS 74 KG. HOW CAN TWO PEOPLE SLEEP ON THE ROOF AS WELL?

Most cars have a dynamic load capacity of between 75 –100 kg, but that’s the weight your car can handle while driving! When the car is stationary, the static load capacity applies, which is considerably higher.

CAN I MOUNT THE SKYCAMP ROOFTOP TENT ON A PICKUP FLATBED OR CABIN?

Yes, all you need is a carrier with 2 crossbars to mount it on the flatbed or a sturdy pickup cabin that can carry a dynamic load of 75 kg.

HOW MUCH DOES THE SKYCAMP ROOFTOP TENT WEIGH AND HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN IT HOLD?

The Skycamp rooftop tent weighs approx. 74 kg and can carry up to 400 kg. Please bear in mind that the exact weight can vary slightly as the fibreglass hardshell is handmade.

CAN I LEAVE MY BEDDING IN THE TENT?

Yes! Even when you fold up the floor extension of the rooftop tent, there’s still plenty of room for sleeping bags, blankets, pillows and clothing.

HOW EASY IS IT TO MOUNT THE ROOFTOP TENT?

Thanks to the lightweight construction of the Skycamp rooftop tent it weighs only about 74 kg, so with helping hands you can easily lift it onto the car roof. You should plan in 30 minutes the first time you mount it, and once you’ve had a bit of practice it should take less than 10 minutes.

CAN I DISMOUNT THE ROOF TENT FROM THE CAR JUST AS QUICKLY?

Yes, no problem, it should take you less than 5 minutes.

WILL I NEED ANY ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR MOUNTING THE TENT?

All the mounting components you need are included with the tent.

DO I HAVE TO RE-IMPREGNATE THE TENT?

Normally not, thanks to our special high-pressure waterproofing. With one exception: If the tent is exposed to certain environmental influences or if chemical cleaning agents have been used on it, you should use a waterproofing spray on these spots after cleaning the tent. Important is also to remember that no hairspray, spray deodorant or other such products should be used inside the tent, as the chemicals they release can have a negative impact on the impregnation performance.

IS THE HEIGHT OF THE LADDER ADJUSTABLE?

Yes, we offer a 30 cm extension for the standard ladder.

MY ROOF LOAD CAPACITY IS TOO LOW. WHAT CAN I DO?

If you remove the ladder of the rooftop tent and stow it in your car when driving, you can reduce the roof load by about 6 kg.
