SESSION 2 BRIEFING UPDATE

Thanks to those of you who came along to the Session 2 Briefing and participated in the event workshop afterwards. We have tallied the votes from the workshop and they are *drumroll*‌ •  R U OK Event: 5 votes •  Life Isn’t Fair Fair: 7 votes

•  Cultural Cocktails: 17 votes •  MQ Amazing Race: 18 votes

•  Nerf War: 11 votes • 5 Senses: 22 votes

Ok, but wait – there’s more! We noticed that the ideas have 2 themes running through them so we have decided to merge these into TWO LARGE EVENTS. Event 1 will have a mental health focus, and will bring together the ‘5 Senses’, ‘Life Isn’t Fair’ and ‘R U OK’ ideas.

Event 2 will have a travel/international focus, and will blend the ‘Amazing Race’ and ‘Cultural Cocktails’ ideas. Sorry Nerf War đ&#x;˜ž, not sure how we can incorporate you into the above...also, sustainability. Who is going to pick up all those nerf bullets around campus???

Since these events were developed by you, we want YOU and YOUR SOCIETY to be in charge of planning them. Remember, each event has a $2000 budget (maybe even more, now that we have merged ideas...) so if you want to have a say in how that 2k is spent to make Macquarie fun again, this is your opportunity!

We can’t wait to get the ball rolling on this, so email your CLO with which event you'd like to be on the committee of 7 August 2019.

EVENTS YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS ANCIENT

HISTORY

REVUE

The Macquarie Ancient History Revue is a sketch show put on by ancient history students for not just ancient history students, and has a long history dating back to the 1970s. With a sweet mix of parody songs and sketches there’s a joke for everybody.

If you’re in the market for a fun night out, this is perfect for you!

When: 21-24 August (Wednesday-Saturday week 4), 7:30pm Where: Lighthouse Theatre, 11 Gymnasium Rd Tickets can be purchased at the door.

A bit about MAHA: We are a social student society dedicated to loving ancient history and being massive nerds. We run many fun events like crafternoons, study sessions and movie nights, so look our for us around campus and on your feed.

As soon as you get your unit guide write in all your due dates, and put a reminder two weeks beforehand to get started.

We held a bubble soccer on ice event which was a great destressor coming up to the final push of end-of-semester assessments. There were some bumps and bruises (especially egos) but we all had a lot of fun!
