I hope they remember to only compete with themselves! As long as you come mentally ready to do better than you did yesterday, every day of your life, then it doesn’t matter how many reps or sets you got to! And I hope they take away that there is one goofy DDPY instructor back in GA that loves them and looks up to them as the real heroes!

LoadedCauliflowerSteaks
PrepTime:20Minutes|CookTime:30Minutes|Servings:4
Directions
Ingredients
2 Large Heads Cauliflower
¼ C Olive Oil
½ Tsp Garlic Powder
½ Tsp Paprika
TT, Salt & Pepper
2 C Cheddar (Shredded)
Toppings
Ranch Dressing or Sour Cream
8 Sliced Bacon (Cooked & Crumbled)
2 Tbsp Fresh Chives, Finely Chopped
Remove and discard leaves from each cauliflower head. Leaving the core intact, trim the stem so that the cauliflower can lie flat on a cutting board. Gently cut each cauliflower into thick “steaks” about ¾ - 1" thick. Its ok if there are any loose florets. Keep those to cook with the steaks, and use as extra topping. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic powder, and paprika, and season mixture with salt and pepper to your liking. Heat a grill or grill pan to medium heat. Brush one side of each steak with olive oil mixture and place the brushed side down on the grill. Brush the tops with seasoned olive oil mixture, cook until tender, and both sides are charred, about 6-8 minutes per side. Once you’ve flipped, top each cauliflower with cheese and cook until melted. Remove from the grill and serve, drizzling cauliflower with ranch dressing, and topping with cooked bacon and chopped chives on top.

JASON
HETLAND
WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT
“Mindblowing!” That’ s how Jason Hetland describes his week with CreatiVets
CreatiVets is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower wounded veterans to heal through the arts and music
At the beginning of March, Jason took a trip to Nashville to spend time with the CreatiVets team He said “The CreatiVets program is truly a life changing experience that allows veterans to share their stories in a very therapeutic way ”
During his week in Nashville, Jason went on an adventure that was full of many incredible moments including a photo shoot with world-renowed photographer Jason Myers, meeting country singer Trace Adkins, and spending time at the IHeart Radio Studio as a guest on the first edition of the new CreatiVets Podcast
But if Jason had to choose only one highlight from the week he said, “it would probably be witnessing how my story became an inspiring song to so many and watching how it touched so many that were in the recording studio while it was being produced ”
Jason described the song writing process as “an amazing experience” His hope is that “other veterans can relate to the story which will inspire them to open up about their own journeys and seek help if needed.” He also hopes his song “makes our citizens much more aware of the silent wounds that many of our warriors live with every day.”
