WELCOME TO INCOMPARABLE

From our family to yours, welcome to Incomparable Camp Ozark. We are excited for your family to join us for what we hope will be the best summer yet, as we celebrate our 76th anniversary. Since 1949, the Ozark family has had one mission in mind: to provide an incomparable camp environment and experience for kids, through a commitment to excellence in all that we do, while seeking to establish and deepen relationships with Jesus Christ.

For three generations, members of the Torn family have grown up at Camp Ozark, attending as campers and serving as summer staff members, directors, and owners. We know that after everything is said and done, what matters is the individual experience of each and every child. We want YOUR child to learn, grow, and have a total blast.

So, if this is your first time at Camp Ozark, WELCOME. We hope you find that the Ozark family is ready to serve you. If you are a returning family, WELCOME BACK and rest assured that our commitment to your family never changes.

Summer 2025 is fast approaching, and we can’t wait! We’re excited for the kids to arrive and for what we hope is truly an incomparable summer camp experience. As always, we appreciate your trust and are here to serve your family.

We hope you enjoy our summer 2025 Ready, Set, Camp Guide and look forward to seeing you very soon at Incomparable Camp Ozark.

How To Pack FOR CAMP OZARK

TRUNK

Plastic or hard-sided trunks work great.

Trunks should be no more than 15” tall.

We do not recommend adding wheels to your trunk.

DUFFEL BAG BACKPACK

Make sure your bag is large enough to hold bedding.

Camp bedding, fan, toiletries, and any items needed the last night of camp will return home in this duffel bag.

PACKING TIPS

Keep your swimsuit easily accessible for the Opening Day swim test.

Place your bulky bedding and pillow in your duffel bag for the trip to camp. Your bedding will be put in your duffel bag for the trip home from camp.

2. We recommend you DO NOT send nice clothes to camp. Choose everyday, comfortable t-shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes instead. 3.

Some campers like to bring a backpack for the bus ride to/from camp.

A backpack is also an easily accessible place to pack a swimsuit for Opening Day.

Campers can pack in a duffel or trunk no more than 15” tall (to slide easily under the bunk). Wheels on trunks are not recommended.

Label all items coming to camp with your camper’s first and last name. Iron-on labels, fabric stamps, and sharpies are three popular ways to label camper items.

Not sure where to find some items? Check out campozarkstore.com to have items delivered to your camper while at camp.

SUMMER 2025

As we get closer to the summer, our goal is to provide you as much certainty as possible to help you prepare and know what to expect for summer 2025. We will provide regular updates via email and on your myOzark dashboard. Specific information regarding your session will be available two weeks prior to the start of your session in your Travel Itinerary.

MEDICATION

If your camper takes any medication (prescription or over the counter) on a daily or as needed basis, send the medication form along with the corresponding medications (in their original container) to Camp Ozark by May 1st, 2025. No over the counter medications, vitamins, or supplements will be accepted on Opening Day. It is not necessary to send basic over the counter medications that your child does not take on a daily basis, such as those for fevers or colds, etc. Camp Ozark provides these medications when determined necessary by the Health Center Staff. Only inhalers, EpiPens, injectable medications, ADD medications, and new prescriptions (prescribed within 7 days prior to arrival of camp) can be brought to camp on Opening Day without incurring a late fee. There is a $25 medication service fee for all medication processing, handling, and packaging. For medications received on Opening Day, other than the exceptions listed above, there will be a $50 late fee (in addition to the $25 medication service fee) and a potential 48 hour delay to process medication.

BIRTHDAYS

We love birthdays at Camp Ozark! Campers with birthdays while at camp are celebrated in many ways. They start their day with an announcement at the Morning Show. Their entire cabin gets a birthday bag with decorations, hats, and other fun items. The birthday boy or girl receives a Mish Mash Fast Pass and a treat at lunch to share with the cabin while the entire camp sings "Happy Birthday!" Additional birthday packages to send to your camper on their special day are available for purchase online at the Camp Ozark Store.

HEALTH FORMS

Each camper must provide a completed Camp Ozark Pre-Participation Physical form. This form is available after you complete the Health Registration section on your myOzark dashboard. A primary care provider signature is required on both sides of this form. Immunizations are mandatory. No exemptions or exceptions.

MARCH 1ST, 2025

FIRST AID

At Camp Ozark, safety is our number one priority. Camp Ozark has 2 Health Centers staffed by 1-2 medical doctors and up to 12 registered nurses. A full-service clinic is located 6 miles away in Mt. Ida. If your child becomes ill or injured while at Camp Ozark, parent(s) will be notified if the camper is seen by the camp physician. Parents may also be notified if, at the sole discretion of the Camp Ozark Medical Staff, notification is deemed necessary. Should medical bills be incurred, parents are fully responsible for payment.

CABIN ASSIGNMENTS

One of the many features that sets Camp Ozark apart is that cabinmate requests are allowed, but not required. Campers are assigned to cabins according to age, development, grade, and session. Requests for one or two cabinmates may be submitted via your myOzark dashboard up to two weeks prior to the camp session. Requested cabinmates must be no more than 12 months apart in age. No more than four campers from the same school or social group will be placed in the same cabin. Camp Ozark will make an effort to accommodate mutual cabinmate requests; however, requests are not guaranteed. Final placement is at the sole discretion of the Camp Director. Camp Ozark is unable to honor cross-session cabin requests (between one- and two-week campers) and unable to honor team requests.

PACKING LIST

A complete list of what to bring is available on page 7. A regulation uniform is not required. All clothing and luggage must be marked with camper’s first and last name. Digital cameras, food, water balloons, silly string, and inappropriate clothing are prohibited. Please refer to the website for more details: campozark.com > Coming To Camp > FAQs

DO NOT pack any prescribed or over the counter medication in your camper’s luggage. Refer to the Medication Dispensation Policy on your myOzark dashboard for further clarification.

WAITLISTS

Waitlists are common for all camp sessions. If your camper is on a waitlist, contact will be made immediately when spots open. If your waitlist camper is never enrolled in a session, your deposit, less a reservation fee, is refundable up to the beginning of the waitlisted session.

CABIN AREA

CABINS

Camp Ozark cabins are arranged by age group and gender. Summit/Pines cabins are serviced by a separate Dining Hall and Heath Center. A typical cabin arrangement is 10-13 campers with 2-3 counselors. Cabins are rustic (screen windows, screen doors, ceiling fans) and campers sleep in bunk beds. We are in the midst of a 5-year strategic plan to update our original cabins. Some early middle school campers use dedicated bathhouse(s) with private stalls, while our youngest campers, upper middle school, and high school campers have in-cabin bathrooms and showers. Exact age range in cabin area of camp varries year to year and session by session.

STORE DEPOSIT

Camp Ozark has two Camp Stores that are open up to three times a day for campers. These stores carry a robust variety of items from drinks and snacks, to camp branded merchandise, to craft project supplies, to small gifts. A deposit should be made in the camper’s store account if purchases are desired: $150 per week is suggested (e.g., $300 for a two-week session and $150 for a one-week session). The store account operates in a similar fashion to a checking account, and the unused balance can be refunded. We believe this system will teach your camper independence and assist in their development of budgeting and decision making. However, in the event your camper’s store balance falls below $25, you will be notified on the dashboard of your myOzark account. Additional store funds can be added, if you wish, through your myOzark account or by calling the camp office at (870) 867-4131.

ALL CASH MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE OFFICE ON THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP FOR SAFEKEEPING. NO MONEY IS ALLOWED TO BE KEPT IN THE CABIN.

RESTRICTIONS

All activity, medical, and medically verifiable dietary restrictions must be submitted through myOzark If a restriction is required, please provide specific instructions in the online restrictions or allergies sections. We endeavor to prioritize your camper’s well-being and will try to adhere to disclosed restrictions within reason. In addition, we will attempt to accommodate requests related to chronic medical conditions and camper health or medical issues. However, Camp Ozark cannot guarantee that all requests can be accommodated. Each case is considered on an individual basis. All campers enrolled at Camp Ozark must comply with the Essential Eligibility Criteria of a Camp Ozark Camper (found in the Health Forms). While many campers’ health or medical conditions are effectively managed during the camp session, final approval for enrollment is at the sole discretion of the Camp Director. Please refer to the Health Registration section on your camper’s myOzark dashboard for further details.

MANDATORY CAMPER INSURANCE

All campers are required to purchase low-cost, no-fault, medical insurance. The fee for this coverage is minimal, but purchase is a requirement for enrollment at Camp Ozark. Please refer to the Camp Ozark Policy Agreement on your camper’s myOzark dashboard for further details.

CAMP VISITS

To avoid disturbing the Camp Ozark routine and program, we do not allow family and friends to visit during camp until Closing Day.

CAMP MOMS

Camp Moms serve as a mom away from home to your child and as an excellent resource for camper families. All first-time camper families will receive an update phone call from a Camp Mom a few days into their camper’s session. You may contact the Camp Moms at any time at campmom@campozark.com, or call (870) 867-4131 and ask for the Camp Mom Office.

CELL PHONES

In order to fully experience Camp Ozark, campers are not allowed to bring cell phones or other mobile communication or transmittable devices (like iPads, iPods, Apple Watches, etc.) to camp. In addition, campers are not allowed to receive or make telephone calls, text, or email while in attendance at Camp Ozark. Parents should feel free to contact a Camp Mom if they need to discuss something related to their child or contact the camp office or Camp Director in case of an emergency.

DIGITAL POSTCARDS

A postcard from your camper and their counselor will be sent electronically to your myOzark dashboard mid-session. Turn on notifications for the Camp Ozark Go app to be alerted when postcards are available for viewing.
