Cabin Square and Summit shuttles will run continuously from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. All shuttles serve parent parking.

Come visit our camp store(s). Our Camp Store serving cabins 1-58 is located next to the Large Gym just down the hill from the Camp Office. The Summit Store is located in the Crafts Center and serves cabins S1A-S21 & P1-P4.

CAMP OZARK AWARDS CABIN AWARDS

At Camp Ozark, we believe that all our campers are unique and are gifted with unique and special abilities. Accordingly, all campers receive a cabin award signifying that they are special and worthy of recognition. These awards are presented in a special cabin ceremony on the last night of camp.

VALUES BASED CAMPING

Camp Ozark tries to emphasize 5 values throughout our camp programming. The values we try to emphasize are self-esteem, selfconfidence, integrity, teamwork, and friendship. Each camper receives a “values based camping” award on the last night of camp. These awards are presented in a special ceremony.

JOURNEYS

The Journeys program is a 9 level progressive program that emphasizes camp participation, personal development, and achievement. Effort, determination, and self-discipline are hallmarks of award recepients.

ORDER OF THE ARROW

This award is given in conjunction with the Camp Ozark tribal competition program. Tribal competition is characterized by 3 flames (goals), which are maximum effort, true sportsmanship, and maximum enthusiasm. We believe these 3 flames are the embodiment of “The Heart of a Champion!” The Order of the Arrow award goes to the one camper on each team who best displays “The Heart of a Champion.”

F.I.T.

F.I.T., First is Third, is the underlying theme of Camp Ozark. We believe that in order to come in first in the race of life, you must strive to put God first, others second, and yourself third; but, by placing yourself third you actually come in first in the race of life. The F.I.T. award goes to the camper in each cabin who does the best job of displaying a F.I.T. attitude througout the session.

TENURE

When campers have attended Camp Ozark four or more years they receive various tenure awards. These awards are presented to the camper in appreciation for the camper’s loyalty and support of Camp Ozark.

VALUES BASED CAMPING As we seek to fulfill our stated mission, through consciously striving to integrate our philosophy, it is important to remember that there are certain values, character traits, and life-skills that we want to impart to our campers. This is what we call “VALUES BASED CAMPING.� Below is a listing of the values included in our Values Based Camping initiative:

SELF-ESTEEM Self-esteem is understanding who you are, how you are, and feeling positive and empowered by this knowledge. Simply put, praise the kids as often as you can.

Never demean a child purposefully. Our goal is to increase self-esteem in kids by constant affirmation as to their inherent worth.

SELF-CONFIDENCE Self-confidence may be contrasted to self-esteem in that self-esteem is feeling positive about who you are, while self-confidence is feeling positive about what you do. Therefore, at Camp Ozark we want to instill self-confidence by encouraging our campers to try new things and validating their efforts, as well as encouraging our campers to find their passions and pursue them whole-heartedly.

INTEGRITY Integrity means doing the right thing, regardless of the consequence. It is honesty and moral soundness. It includes truthfulness, honesty, respect for others, commitment and work ethic. At Camp Ozark, your integrity will be tested every day. We know this because in life, your integrity is tested every day. We want the kids and staff to be conscious of developing a worthy personal integrity.

TEAMWORK At Camp Ozark, we want the concept of the benefit of the group over the benefit of the individual to be modeled and taught. We want kids to understand that it is really true that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, that it is the responsibility of the gifted to assist those not as gifted, that it is the responsibility of the individual to develop a greater concern for others than himself, and that ultimately the ability to create success in a group leads to greater success in life.

FRIENDSHIP At Camp Ozark, we want kids to learn that friendship takes initiative, effort, investment, transparency, forgiveness, and time. We want kids to leave Camp Ozark with new friends and to learn that there is value in friendship.

Ozark for All is a “joint venture” between the Camp Ozark Staff, Alumni, Parents, Friends and the individual Child. In addition, to providing an incomparable summer camp experience, our hope is to use all of our resources to provide a consistent, loving presence in each child’s life.

VISION

Camp Ozark has secured an additional 300 acres on Lake Greeson in central Arkansas, a perfect setting for another incomparable camp. Our vision is to provide an incomparable summer camp experience for up to 2000 deserving children by 2024.
