Campers love getting mail from home. “Camper Email” is always the quickest way to send your camper a note.

DON’T send your child’s nicest clothes to camp.

WHAT’S THE SAME IS OUR NEVER CHANGING CAMP OZARK MISSION, which is to provide an incomparable camp environment and experience for kids through a commitment to excellence in all that we do, while seeking to establish and deepen relationships with Jesus Christ. What’s also the same is our endeavor to provide each child with what we believe is a caring and dynamic college age counselor to serve as a friend and role model. Things like lots of new activities, educational opportunities in every area of our program, including many that will feature expert Instructor Specialists to enhance your learning experience, new improvements like another brand new thrilling water slide, an enhanced sports program, one more brand new competition ski boat, the amazing Tarzan boat, and more. Oh, and don’t let me forget, we have added some amazing new Special Events as well as some awesome new Venture Experiences for our two and three week campers.

Finally, what’s the same, but ever evolving, is our streamlined registration system, most of which can be done online through your “MY OZARK” account, including convenient payment options and processes. This catalog shows you just exactly how to do everything that needs to be done to complete your Camp Ozark registration, pay your fees, select your activities and, of course, view most of the cool offerings from the most incomparable camp store on the face of the planet!

Remember, all fees are due April 1st, 2016. Health forms are due May 1st. To get started go to campozark.com.

Complete the ACTIVITIES selection process online as soon as possible. Remember, the sooner you complete your class selections, the better your chance of getting all or most of your desired choices!

Complete the HEALTH REGISTRATION online, including medication forms and/or allergy plans, if applicable.

Health Forms are due by May 1st.

Make an appointment for your camper to get a physical examination.

Make sure the primary care provider has signed the Physical form.

DINING HALL At Camp Ozark, we strive to provide campers with delicious food options, many made from scratch the same day, while recognizing the importance of balancing nutrition and healthy eating. At every meal, campers have the option to eat from the main hot food line or a healthy breakfast bar or, at lunch and dinner, a soup, salad, and pasta bar. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fresh fruit, and garden salads are also available during most meals. Food options are also available in the Camp Store.

OZARK PROGRAM TRIBAL COMPETITION Campers spend a part of each day as a member of one of the two Ozark Indian tribes - the Caddo and the Osage. Each morning, campers play a competitive game to earn points for their tribe. Throughout the session, a running score is kept so that at the close of each Camp Ozark session one of the two tribes, the Caddo or the Osage, is declared the final victor for the session.

MORNING CLASSES

Camp Ozark provides unique, individualized schedules to campers based on the preferences selected before arriving for the summer. Ozark’s activities offer a variety of interests including sports, creative skills, outdoor adventure, culinary arts, equestrian, shooting sports, performing arts, specialty courses, and many more.

MISH MASH

MISH MASH, MISH MASH, MISH MASH, IT’S MISH MASH TIME!!!

That is the cheer that rings through Camp Ozark as campers begin their favorite time of the day. Mish Mash is structured free time when the campers have over two hours each day to do any activities they want.

During Mish Mash, campers can choose to ride horses, play laser tag, build a boat in the woodshop, tie-dye a shirt in the craft center, jump on the Blob, ride the waterslides, or take a hike to the Crystal Mine or Crawdad Creek. These activities just scratch the surface.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Whether campers are scootin’ their boots at Western Night, “ooh”ing and “ahh”ing at the Red, White, & Blue fireworks show, or trying out the Velcro Wall at Planet Ozark, each night promises a fun-filled, out-of-sight experience!

MY OZARK is an online camper management system that allows you to change or update much of your camper(s) information. All families registered at Camp Ozark have a MY OZARK account.

To access your MY OZARK account:

As the primary parent/guardian, you already have a MY OZARK account established.

MY OZARK account holders can access our website features by logging into their account using their unique username and password.

MY OZARK account holders can also create Guest Accounts for friends and family.

If you have paid your deposit online, please login to your MY OZARK account.

If you have paid your deposit by check, a MY OZARK account was created for you.

Please do not create a duplicate account.

2016 WAITLISTS

Waitlists are common for many camp sessions. Contact will be made immediately when spots open. If your camper is never enrolled in a session, your deposit is refundable up to the beginning of the waitlisted session.

COMMONLY ASKED

QUESTIONS MEDICATION PACKAGING

Camp Ozark will facilitate the mandatory pre-packing of camper medications for camp. ($20 service fee for medication pre-packaging.)

All medication must be delivered to camp before camper arrival.

Refer to MY OZARK for medication packaging options. Only inhalers, epipens, injectable medications, and new prescriptions (prescribed within 7 days prior to arrival of camp) can be brought to camp on Opening Day. For meds other than these exceptions, there will be a $75 handling fee and a potential 48 hour delay to process medication on Opening Day.

HEALTH AND FIRST AID

At Camp Ozark safety is our number one priority. Camp Ozark has 2 Health Centers staffed by a physician and up to 9 registered nurses.

A full-service clinic is located 6 miles away in Mt. Ida. If your child becomes ill or injured while at Camp Ozark, parent(s) will be notified if the camper is seen by the camp physician, or if, at the sole discretion of the Camp Ozark Medical Staff, notification is necessary. Should medical bills be incurred, parents are fully responsible for payment. Immunizations are mandatory, no exemptions or exceptions.

OPENING DAY

Each session begins on a Sunday. Opening Day procedures are designed to make the parents’ and campers’ experience as smooth and efficient as possible. An Opening Day Guide, as well as both valet and luggage service, are provided to all families arriving via private automobile.

Campers arriving via chartered bus or airplane receive assistance with luggage and are moved into their cabin immediately upon arrival.

CLOSING DAY

We strongly encourage every parent to attend Closing Ceremonies on the last day of your camper’s session (Saturday). The program begins at 10:00 am for all two week sessions and for sessions B/D/F/G/I. There is an optional picnic lunch at 11:30 am with your camper’s cabin and counselors ($7.50 per person, advance reservations, please).

For sessions A/C/E/H/J, the ceremony begins at 11:00 am. **NOTE: There is no picnic lunch for sessions A, C, E, H or J. Please see inside back cover for Closing Day Schedule or refer to the camp calendar found at campozark.com.

PACKING LIST

A regulation uniform is NOT required.

All clothing and equipment must be marked with camper’s first and last name. Each camper should bring a standard size trunk. A complete list of what to bring is available on page 8.

BIRTHDAYS

We love birthdays at Camp Ozark! Campers with birthdays while at camp are celebrated in many ways. They start their day with an announcement and celebration at the Morning Show and their entire cabin gets a birthday bag with decorations, hats, and other fun items.

The birthday boy or girl receives a Mish Mash Fast Pass and a cake at lunch to share with the cabin while the whole camp sings "Happy Birthday" to the camper! Additional birthday packages to send to your camper on their special day are available for purchase via the Camp Ozark Store.

CABINS

Camp Ozark cabins are arranged by age group and gender. The Summit/Pines is an area set apart for older campers serviced by a separate dining facility and health center. Typical cabin arrangement is 9-12 campers with 2-3 counselors. Cabins are rustic (screen windows, screen doors, ceiling fans) and campers sleep in bunk beds. Younger campers use dedicated bath houses with private stalls, while middle and older campers generally have in-cabin bathrooms and showers.

CABIN ASSIGNMENTS

Campers are assigned to cabins according to age, development, school grade, and session. Requests for up to two cabinmates may be made if submitted in writing at least two weeks prior to the camp session and requested by both campers via MY OZARK. Requested campers must be no more than 12 months apart in age. No more than four campers from the same school or social group will be placed in the same cabin.

Final placement is at the sole discretion of the Camp Director. **Camp Ozark is unable to honor cross-session cabin requests (between one and two week campers) and unable to honor Tribal requests.

CAMP MOMS Former Camp Ozark staff members serve as a mom away from home to your child and an excellent resource for first time camper families. They strive to meet each camper’s needs and make the experience as smooth as possible for campers and parents.

Families of first time campers will receive a status call from a camp mom a few days into their camper's session.

CLASS SELECTION Each child will receive a unique, individualized morning class schedule based on the camper’s indicated preferences. All classes are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each camper will be able to change his or her class schedule upon arrival at camp. Age and gender restrictions may apply.

SPECIALTY AND ELECTIVE ACTIVITIES

Among the various classes offered during the Morning Program, campers can also choose specialty and elective classes. Specialty activities require all 3 class periods every day for a week. Elective activities are additional classes to the regular schedule that only occur once. These classes will be considered as your camper’s first choice and, in a few instances, additional fees may apply. All activity information can be found on the website.

STORE DEPOSIT

No extra money is needed at camp except for personal items such as toothpaste, shampoo, stamps, camp t-shirts, canteen/snack items, extra craft items, etc. A deposit should be made in the camper’s store account: $100 per week is suggested (e.g. $200 for a two week session and $100 for a one week session). The store account operates in a similar fashion to a checking account and the unused balance is refunded. We believe this system will teach your camper independence and assist in their development of budgeting and decision making.

However, in the event your camper’s store balance falls below $25, you will be notified on the Dashboard of your My Ozark account. Additional store funds can be added through your My Ozark account or by calling the camp office at 870-867-4131.

ALL CAMPER MONEY MUST BE TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE ON THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP. NO MONEY IS ALLOWED TO BE KEPT IN THE CABIN.

ELECTRONICS AND OTHER PROHIBITED ITEMS To promote an incomparable Camp Ozark experience, we prohibit cell phones, iPads, MP3 or other music players, video cameras, radios, laptops, video games, and similar electronics. If brought to camp, items will be taken up and held securely until departure. Expensive or deeply personal items should be left at home due to risk of breakage or loss. Food, candy, water balloons, glow sticks, and silly string should not be brought or sent to camp. Fireworks, guns, ammunition, knives, alcohol, tobacco, or drugs are strictly prohibited. Please refer to the Camp Ozark Code of Conduct on your camper's MY OZARK Dashboard for further details.

MANDATORY CAMPER INSURANCE All campers are required to purchase low-cost, no-fault, medical insurance. The fee for this coverage is minimal, but purchase is a requirement for enrollment at Camp Ozark.

RESTRICTIONS

All activity, medical and medically verifiable dietary restrictions must be submitted in writing through My Ozark. If a restriction is required, please provide specific instructions in the online restrictions or allergies sections.

We endeavor to prioritize your camper’s well-being and will try to adhere to disclosed restrictions within reason. In addition, we will attempt to accommodate requests related to chronic medical conditions and camper health or medical issues. However, Camp Ozark cannot guarantee that all requests will be met. Each case is considered on an individual basis. All campers enrolled at Camp Ozark must comply with the Essential Eligibility Criteria of a Camp Ozark Camper (found in the Health Forms). While many camper health or medical conditions are effectively managed during the camp session, final approval for enrollment is at the sole discretion of the Camp Director. Arrive via private automobile on the opening Sunday of the session AND/OR depart via automobile after the closing day ceremony on the final Saturday.

Fly into the Little Rock airport to then be transported to camp via chartered bus staffed with Ozark employees. Departure using this airport is also available.

MT. IDA AIRPORT

CHARTERED BUS

Fly into Bearce Airport located in Mt. Ida, AR approximately seven miles from camp via private/small aircraft. Transportation to camp from Mt. Ida will be provided.

Ride a Camp Ozark staffed charter bus (available from a variety of cities) to camp AND/OR depart via bus after the Closing Day Ceremonies.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS There are many places to stay near Camp Ozark. We suggest that you make your reservations well in advance. First class hotel facilities are available in Hot Springs, Arkansas, 40 miles east of Camp Ozark. In addition, there are several nice lodging options within 20-30 minutes of Camp Ozark.

You may also visit the Chamber of Commerce websites for Mt. Ida (mtidachamber.com) and Hot Springs (hotspringschamber.com), or any online travel review guide, such as Trip Advisor (tripadvisor.com).

Parents are encouraged to personally pick up their campers at the close of camp; however, departure is also available using all four travel options. Make certain Travel Information is completed in a timely fashion for Ozark’s records. Bus and other Camp Ozark provided departure fees are fully refundable up to the Wednesday prior to the camper’s departure.

CAMP VISITS

To avoid disturbing the Camp Ozark routine and program, we do not allow family and friends to visit during camp until Closing Day.

TELEPHONE USE

Campers are not allowed to bring cell phones to camp, nor are campers allowed to receive or make calls while at Ozark. Parents should feel free to contact the Camp Mom if they need to discuss something related to their child or contact the camp office or Camp Director in case of an emergency.
