In Camp Fire, it begins now.

Thank You to Our Volunteers 2015 Board of Directors On behalf of Camp Fire First Texas, we would like to thank the 2015 An Artists’ Christmas committee for their hard work in planning this year’s gala. We are particularly grateful to Amanda Plotnicki who has been involved with An Artists’ Christmas for nearly 30 years. We were honored to work with her as she stepped in as Chair, a title which was much deserved after her many years of involvement. During her tenure she has participated as an artist, a committee member and a donor. Her passion for the event and dedication to the organization is unparalleled. We thank the entire committee for the hours and months they’ve dedicated to ensuring the success of this very important evening. We hold deep respect and appreciation for the time you have contributed and the awareness you have created for Camp Fire.

2015 Art Judges David Dike David Dike, a native of Fort Worth and a graduate of Texas Christian University, made it his mission to spread the enthusiasm of Texas art. Dike prides himself on bringing quality art to corporate clients and collectors alike. His mission is to better educate the general public on the importance of Texas and American art. David Dike Fine Art was established in 1986 in the Arts District of Uptown Dallas where it resides today. The gallery specializes in late 19th and 20th century American and European paintings with an emphasis on the Texas Regionalists and Texas Landscape painters. The gallery provides a compilation of traditional and distinctive works for both the new and mature collector. Dike is a member of the Fine Art Dealers Association (FADA) and the Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA) and has contributed to various books on Texas art. He is highly regarded nationally and is recognized as an authority on Texas art. Judy Nelson Judy Nelson is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property, qualified to perform appraisals for the IRS, and USPAP-trained and tested. She specializes in 19th and 20th century and contemporary American and European art, and regional/Texas/Southwestern art. She appraises paintings, prints, works on paper, sculpture and decorative art. Ms. Nelson has served on the Board of the North Texas Chapter of ISA, and at the national level as ISA’s Vice-Chair of the Fine Art Committee. She is a Board Member of Historic Fort Worth. Since 2004, Ms. Nelson has been involved in Historic Fort Worth’s Preservation is the Art of the City, an annual juried art exhibit and sale, both as Chairman and as a member of its Curatorial Committee. Prior to focusing exclusively on appraisal work, she consulted with corporate and institutional clients, helping them create new art programs for their spaces. She counts Texas Christian University, Baylor All Saints Medical Center, Acme Brick, Park Cities Bank and Citizens Bank among those clients. She also works with private collectors in acquiring new works. James Tennison James Tennison, a painter and portrait artist based in Fort Worth, Texas, sees beauty in the ordinary and enjoys sharing it with people who might not have noticed. He particularly shines when interpreting scenes where light and shadow intersect; he has fine-tuned his careful eye and technique to bring out rich colors from reflected light and shadows. Though he grew up in Portugal and has seen much of the world, he is most inspired by meeting the people and enjoying the culture in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. He chose his studio space in a neighborhood involved in a huge revitalization project, just one of many ways he strives to contribute to the culture that inspires him. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, including the Gallery Americana in Carmel, California; Galerie Kornye in Dallas and Galerie Kornye West in Fort Worth, Texas; Greenwich Workshop Gallery in Fairfield, Connecticut; Museum of American Illustration and The Salmagundi Club in New York City; and Whistle Pik Galleries in Fredericksburg, Texas. He has taught and guest lectured at several colleges and universities in Texas and has given many private painting workshops.

Pardi Gras What do you get when you combine the hearts and souls of two legendary bands from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s? The next “must-have” party band of the 2000’s! In 2003 key members of the bands “King Cobra” and “Sons of the Beaches” came together for an impromptu one time collaboration that left party goers asking for more. So they came together to form Pardi Gras and now 12 years later the result is still making history. Pardi Gras has one simple philosophy: “Have a blast. And everyone else will, too.” It’s so true and a big part of the fun is doing the unexpected. Nowhere will you find an ensemble of seasoned veterans more eager to challenge their vocal and musical abilities in search of novel, interesting dance tunes. The result: it’s not uncommon to hear one “wow” after another as the song list reels off hit after hit -- every tune designed to make even those stick-in-the-muds get up and dance. “Laissez les bon temps rouler” – LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
