THE WALKING SOCIETY is a virtual community open to everyone from all social, cultural, economic, and geographical backgrounds. Individually and collectively, TWS champions the imagination, energy, and lifestyle of the Mediterranean, offering valuable ideas and solutions to better the world.
The first issue of TWS launched in 2001 and focused on Mallorca, Camper’s native island home. The original series, which covered different territories throughout the Mediterranean, lasted four years and eight issues before ending in 2005. In 2020, the concept was relaunched to explore new unique regions and their cultures.
Issue 14 of The Walking Society travels to Krk, one of the largest islands in the Adriatic Sea, joined to the Croatian mainland by a long arch bridge. The magazine explores the coastline with its many bays and natural wonders, from underground caves to islets, and talks to the island’s residents, tracing Krk’s roots from olive trees to the burgeoning art and music scenes.
