Stefanie Rennecker of Barry, along with her brother, Ryan Lowe of Pleasant Hill, were the driving forces behind Saturday’s GRHF. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these veterans,” Rennecker said. “Not everybody knew everybody, but everybody knew where they were from. There was a lot of camaraderie.” Myron Casteel of Pittsfield, who served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963, said he enjoyed the trip immensely. He was accompanied by his son, Larry, a 23-year veteran of the Air Force. “It was wonderful,” Casteel said.”Wonderful and very emotional.” (See, honor flight, A2)
