WOODWARD’S DIGITAL MEDIA CAMP offers programs designed specifically to meet your individual needs and support your passion. Whether you dream of shooting the cover of a magazine, recording the hottest new album, capturing and creating the next great feature film, working with the best professional athletes in action sport, or working in the fashion industry as a photographer, we have programs to help you meet your goals. Our week long Digital Media Camp provides you with our instructors that are industry experts, professional athletes, up-to-date camera and software technology and a facility fully equipped to produce in! At the end of the week, campers show their work at our Digital Media Camp Arts Festival and also receive a certificate of completion for their accomplishments. We help take your interests to the next level, while having fun in the process.

NOTE: Digital Media campers get the best of both worlds at Camp Woodward. If you are an avid enthusiast of another camp program, those facilities and events will be available to you,while focusing on your media program. If you ride a bike, skateboard, scooter, or inline bring the equipment for your sport including a helmet.

All skill levels are welcome, no experience is required to attend. YOU can come to Woodward and learn while having fun! We also offer adults over 19 the chance to experience and attend Woodward during the last week of camp.

LOCATION

Woodward is located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania, approximately 25 miles from State College, PA and about 3 hours from New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Last year, campers from 47 states and 31 countries attended Camp Woodward.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Camp Woodward has an athletic training room located in the Pit Gym by the Canteen. Live-in athletic trainers are on duty throughout the day and resident nurses live in our well-equipped infirmary. Campers must be covered by their own medical insurance.

While at camp you will live in air-conditioned cabins with an adjacent bath, bunk beds, and individual storage space.

CAMP STORE/CANTEEN

Our Camp Store and Canteen, located in the heart of camp, are always a great place for snacks and socializing. Complete with a store, a fully stocked Skate and Bike Shop the Canteen will meet your every need. Snacks, pizza, ice cream, hot pretzels, and sodas are available for purchase, as well as incidentals like toothpaste and a laundry service, which are available for stay over campers.The Canteen and Camp Store are open daily. Campers place spending money in their “camp bank account” and draw against it for their purchases so they never have to carry cash.

It’s your choice, Woodward-style cookout available lunch and dinner at our three outdoor grills, or dine in at our cafeteria featuring a salad bar, hot food bar, bagel bar, taco and burrito bar, fruit bar, peanut butter bar, cereal bar, and all the milk you can drink!

WOODWARD VIDEO PRODUCTION CAMP is a filmmaker’s dream and more! Surrounded by the best action sports facilities and athletes in the world, we created a weeklong program that gives you the opportunity to build your filmmaking skills and knowledge as you experience what it takes to become an expert. Our instructors help guide your passion while you work on the project of your choice. Our 5,000 square foot studio has an all black studio space, green screen station, multi-colored and textured backdrops, LED light panels, and an expert staff to help bring your concepts to life.

As a Video Production Camper your week will cater to your individual needs as a videographer. Woodward’s vast facilities and weekly workshops with our instructors will enhance your skills as you work on a project of your choice. All campers will receive a certificate of completion and premiere their work at our Friday Night Arts Festival.

Based on your individual needs and ability, your camp week may include learning basic to advanced composition, exposure, focus, lighting, and computer editing. Woodward also provides you with the opportunity to work with some of the most current gear in the industry - fisheye and telephoto lenses, light meters, and professional flash equipment. Our expert instructors and pro photographers will guide and assist you in shooting photos of pro athletes and models in our 5,000 square foot studio as well as camp’s action packed environment. Download your images and learn to edit like a pro on Apple® iMac® computers and showcase your work at the Friday Night Arts Festival.

Music Recording CAMPWOODWARD.COM/MUSIC

OUR WEEKLONG MUSIC RECORDING PROGRAM offers experiences in music recording, engineering, mixing and production. If you are a musician and want to record your previously written music or you are interested in learning the engineering process, we have it all. Our studio is a musician’s dream, with a control room, vocal booth, live room, as well as an equipment list including an array of microphones, Taylor™ guitars, acoustic drums and keyboards.

Music campers have the opportunity to work together on a project or record solo, all with the guidance of our music recording instructors who have been recording and touring artists for over 20 years. In addition, each week, guest musicians will assist and collaborate with campers on the project of their choice.

Your process in the studio will be documented in video form and displayed during the Friday Night Arts Festival, where video and photo campers also display and premiere their work. All music campers go home with an mp3 of their song that they worked on!

NOTE: THE VIDEO IS A DOCUMENTATION OF ALL MUSIC CAMPER’S EXPERIENCE, NOT A PERSONAL MUSIC VIDEO.

Equipment We Provide: Apple® iMac® computer with Pro Tools™ LE, PDP 5 piece drum set, Taylor™ Electric and Acoustic guitars, Zildjian™ K cymbals, 10 different microphones, and a Midi Keyboard.

What to Bring:

Musical Instrument (if you have one), lyrics (singer/songwriter), a padlock for your locker, and a hard drive or thumb drive with minimum 16gb of storage to take your projects home with you. If you Skateboard, BMX, or Scooter bring your sport specific equipment and a helmet.

Digital media workshops A TY EVANS PHANTOM CAMERA WORKSHOP IN ASSOCIATION WITH BRAIN FARM DIGITAL CINEMA CAMPERS CREATED SLOW MOTION CONTENT FOR THEIR WEEKLY PROJECTS.

TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY we host inspiring workshops for Digital Photography and Video Production. You have the opportunity to gain hands on experience and immediate knowledge as our guest instructors give you some of their history and take you in the field to put their teaching into practice.

WORKSHOPS: (Previous years) SkyVue AP helicopter video and photography, fisheye lenses for action sports, breaking down a pro camera bag, Phantom camera setup and cinematography, flash photography, understanding light and lenses, and movie scene recreations.

Our 5,000 sq foot Facility THE WOODWARD DIGITAL MEDIA STUDIO is a 5,000 square foot studio with 13 ft ceilings, Apple® iMac® computer editing stations, green screen studio, all black 20’ x 20’ studio, hair and makeup station, and a photography studio with multiple flashes and colored backdrops. Our prop and costume rack will spice up any photo or video shoot.

At the end of the week the studio is converted into an HD surround sound theatre to premiere campers’ projects at the Friday Night Arts Festival.

Camp Woodward, the world’s premier Action Sports Camp, offers a dry-land camp for snowboarders and freeskiers. This program uses Woodward’s extensive facilities to improve aerial awareness, balance, flexibility, and strength in a unique dry-land environment. Members of the U.S. National Snowboard Team and the USASA have benefited from this training that is also available to you.

TRAINING INCLUDES: Use of gymnastics facilities including trampolines and foam pits, aerial awareness, balance techniques, ParkBoard™ indoor snowboards and ParkSki™ training skis, synthetic snow jib, flexibility and strength training, skateboarding, biking, scooter, and inline skating during your free time. The Camp Woodward Season 7 series, released Mondays on YouTube, will document their amazing camp experiences and tell the story of why Woodward is the "Ultimate Summer Camp."

Scholarship Opportunities

THE WOODWARD SCHOLARSHIP FUND has been created to help deserving individuals who otherwise financially would not have the opportunity to attend Camp Woodward. The Woodward Scholarship Fund is made possible by contributions from individuals, alumni, sponsors, pro riders, and other staff who want to give something back to their sports.

Congratulations to those recipients who have received full and partial scholarships in the past. It is not too late to send your scholarship application, which can be printed from the Camp Woodward website (www.campwoodward.com/scholarships), and letters of recommendation to the camp office to be considered for a scholarship. TAP Program

THIS PAST SUMMER WE SELECTED the most talented campers in the Digital Media and Action Sports programs and invited them to return at a special rate for the TAP Program.

The individuals participated in jam sessions for a chance to win full and partial scholarships for 2016. This picture represents some of the campers who were tapped and participated in the program. If you didn't get tapped in 2015, you'll have your chance this summer!
