What inspired you to open a jewelry line?

Sahar Manley: I just love being feminine I love being fabulous. I love dressing up, and a lot of women are not comfortable with that. And so I remember when I was at Rolls Royce, anyone I talked into buying a car was always so happy because you need a little boost of confidence to get into your fabulous self And I used to wear a lot of stuff my whole life. I've worn lots of real jewelry, so I started a real jewelry line I made a bunch of diamond jewelry, but it was obviously high-end, so not many people could afford it I started selling it to many women I knew, the wives next door, and I thought I wanted to do the same thing but make it costume so everyone could afford it And that was the whole, you know, modus operandi behind it So I started designing everything like my favorite diamond pieces a little twist to it and making it costume-made My mom's from Turkey, and she helped me find the best vendors in Turkey because they have high quality there I wanted to keep it good quality but at a really low price. So I just started making my favorite pieces I began with bracelets because I like to wear them, and all the women I knew at Rolls Royce or real estate loved them too So I started making fancy bracelets that looked amazing I kept the price at $200 to $300 I never had a website or an Instagram I would just walk into places, and it was like word of mouth I would walk into the Four Seasons to get a massage, and they would say, 'Oh, I love your jewelry,' and I'm like, it's my line The Beverly Hills Hotel asked if they could sell it, and they started selling it

Authentic And Fabulous: Sahar Manley Talks About The Modus Operandi Behind Her Successful, Affordable High-End Jewelry

High-end jewelry made authentic and accessible is what Sahar Manley, founder of CAMILLA SERETTI, wanted for her iconic brand Her end goal? To help people feel fabulous even on their worst days CAMILLA SERETTI, Sahar's alter ego for whom she named her jewelry line, has taken the editorial world by storm in just two years, securing covers in some of the world's most respected editorial magazines, including Vogue and Harper's Bazaar These pieces are unlike any other accessories on the market because they are hand-crafted in a unique and meticulous way Every item is high-end, on-trend, and timeless, making it possible to find something suitable for any event. Her luxury jewelry brand has become a staple for A-listers on the red carpet and in their daily lives. Sahar only designs 20 pieces per collection, guaranteeing a level of exclusivity yet affordable. She is a single mother who cares about everyone around her and thrives on a solid work ethic and working hard. She has made a name for herself, and if you ever admire jewelry in some of the most fabulous magazine covers, it's probably a CAMILLA SERETTI piece.

How did COVID impact your brand?

Sahar Manley: So I was at high-end hotels, selling quite a bit every month, and then when COVID happened, everything closed I was sad no one could see my stuff. So during COVID, I got a two-bedroom condo next door, made it into an office, and worked like seven days a week, 18 hours a day My daughter didn't go to school, so it was great Then one day, I got a phone call, 'do you want to come to do a pop-up shop in Century City Mall?' So I had like seven days to get everything together. And I did a little pop-up shop, and it just took off.

I met Christine Quinn on the Vogue cover, and my jewelry got on the cover of Retreat Magazine. Magazines started using my jewelry on their covers. KTLA came in, and they did an article 'this lady has jewelry for under $350' because that was my thing I wanted everything to be affordable Inspire women that don't wear jewelry to start wearing it

How do you put your personality and who you are into your jewelry collections?

Sahar Manley: Everything, it's very me It's very loud; It's very fun; It's very showy But sometimes, I have moments where I'm not all out there. I'm sad, or I'm quiet or insecure And I remember I don't wear a lot of jewelry in those days, but I still wear jewelry And so, I create smaller pieces that are also me. My daughter and I play Polo, and I still want to wear earrings when I play So I created a whole Polo collection I have a bunch of earrings and bracelets that are small and dainty enough to wear while playing Polo So I make my jewelry for my lifestyle

What do you want your kids to learn from your entrepreneurial journey?

Sahar Manley: To work hard If you work hard and are authentic, never think about the money because I believe my whole life I've never looked after money. If it's right, it comes to you. But never go after anything for money; work hard, and have the right intention And my kids see it I was married wealthy, but when I left, I said you know my kids can inherit everything I want to make my kids proud, which is crucial for me I want my kids to see that even though I could have just taken a gazillion dollars, I was proud enough to say that you guys are the kids I'm going to make my own money and do my own thing In life, money is so important because you can't do anything right without it, but it should never be the goal of anything And my kids know that

What advice do you give women who want to start their own brands?

Sahar Manley: The most important thing is to be so authentic. I mean, if I had investors that wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do because they thought it was crazy, you know? And I'm fortunate that up until now, I haven't needed investors But honestly, I got to be authentic. So I feel like any woman, it doesn't matter what you want to be; you just have to be authentic and work hard

What's your favorite collection so far?

Sahar Manley: I have so many favorites The Seretti necklace is my namesake necklace, and I designed those with JLo in mind. I've never designed for anyone in mind besides myself and, just, generally speaking, women So that necklace I designed for JLo in mind, and I named it Seretti necklace because that's my company name, so that's probably the most extraordinary piece to me I love wearing it, and I can't wait to get JLo to wear it because it will happen I've never gone after any celebrity I've never reached out to a celebrity, but for JLo, I'd do anything She and Blake Lively are my only two wardrobe idols

As a woman entrepreneur, how do you inspire your daughter? And what does it mean to be a mom and, you know, balance work with life

Sahar Manley: My daughter has gone on every business trip with me, and during COVID, she was out of school So we traveled to every trade show and every state for two years I would go to hotels and bring my kid. She just saw everything; she's worked every trade show with me. And she needs to see that The most important part for me, besides having women be fabulous, and as my company grows, is that I get to support other people For three years, I had a team of only three people, and now I have a team of 12, and that's brand new for me; it's fantastic But I told her I'm so proud that I get to support 12 people's lives I get to help them with their cars and college, which is a part of growing a business and raising kids and teaching them it's not all about you or your brand or your income but about how many people you can help. I love that. I have people who depend on me and our brand; I think It's incredible

How I Got Here: Sahar Manley on What It Took to Build a Business Empire

Sahar Manley graduated from high school at age 16, finished junior college a year later, and was working full-time in fashion before most people are old enough to vote

Her career since then hasn’t followed a straight line, let alone a traditional path, Manley acknowledges She’s worked as a stylist, interior designer, in high-end real estate, and in sales for Rolls-Royce, a title she wears proudly even in her instagram name (@rollsroycesahar)

Two years ago, she added jewelry designer to that résumé, launching CAMILLA SERETTI just before the pandemic shut the world down in 2020. Manley ran the entire business from a two-bedroom condo, working trade shows with her daughter in tow and showing the world exactly what she could do with her expertise in luxury, fine jewelry, and design

What unites all of these roles is her determination, a personality trait that has followed her through all the highs and lows of her personal and professional life. That includes a whirlwind marriage and, later, divorce from high-profile sports agent Dwight Manley, who Manley credits along with her family for showing her a world of experiences, which she is now channeling into her jewelry

“Everything I have built in my little CAMILLA SERETTI empire has been on my own two feet and with my own two cents,” Manley says

Manley grew up in Newport Beach, Calif , where she got her first job at a luxury French boutique inside South Coast Plaza Manley says she was its youngest employee by far at age 16, but she quickly worked her way up to assistant manager. She thought about college and was accepted to the University of Southern California But that’s when Armani came calling, so college had to wait

“Being in the fashion world always seemed so natural to me,” Manley says. “And even at such a young age, I loved the opportunity of styling clients and sharing my fashion input with them Ever since then, I have been working in fashion, whether as an interior designer, stylist, or, now, jewelry designer ”

By 19, Manley was working at Georg Jensen as the manager of the luxury brand’s fine jewelry department Manley says she loved jewelry in part because her father would bring her along when he bought jewelry for her mother

“I was maybe 10 years old when we went to a jewelry auction, and my dad bought my mom a 20 carat emerald necklace. It’s been an iconic piece in my family ever since,” Manley says. “I designed our Zizi earrings from my memory of that pendant ”

Being a classic “girl’s girl,” Manley says she wants her jewelry to make women feel as good as the pieces they choose to wear, whether they receive them as gifts or, more importantly, buy them for themselves

“I am just a woman that loves jewelry and being feminine. I love that I get to be myself and create pieces for women to feel fabulous,” Manley says

Her next goal? Continue her brand’s U S expansion and take it international

“I want to continue with the success and reputation we’ve built in the U.S. and take it to Europe,” Manley says “Having CAMILLA SERETTI jewelry grace the cover of over 30 magazines in the last year and a half has really exposed us to a fabulous new clientele in Europe, and that is where I see us expanding over the next year.”

Meet Sahar Manley, Fashion Expert and CEO of CAMILLA SERETTI

1 ) YOU’RE A FASHION EXPERT, SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR, AND THE CEO OF CAMILLA SERETTI, A LUXURY JEWELRY BRAND BASED IN LOS ANGELES – THE LIST DOESN’T END THERE, YOU’RE ALSO A LICENSED REAL ESTATE AGENT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, A LOVING MOTHER. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO JUGGLE ALL OF THIS SO SUCCESSFULLY?

Well, sometimes I don’t juggle it all successfully I think as I’ve become older, I have learned that it’s not important to juggle EVERYTHING “successfully,”but more important to feel balanced, and just happy. Know what your priorities in life are, and then work as hard as possible toward your goals, without jeopardizing your priorities. My main priorities are my children I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to every single trade show for the last 2 years with my daughter, so it allowed me to spend time with her, as well as keep building my business, which is also really important to me

2 ) YOU WERE BUSY RAISING YOUR DAUGHTERS BUT MANAGED TO BUILD AND RUN YOUR BUSINESS AT THE SAME TIME THAT’S PRETTY AMAZING! FOR OUR READERS WHO THINK THEY CAN NO LONGER WORK TOWARD THEIR OWN GOALS SINCE BECOMING A MOTHER, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY TO THEM?

I’m not going to sugar coat it It’s definitely more difficult building and running your own company, while raising young children I know firsthand how much time it takes to really build a company from the ground up, and how much time we, as mothers, devote to our children My advice is to really find a healthy balance, but while not ever feeling guilty for either side I think mothers tend to feel some bit of guilt when we choose to spend time on ourselves, or our career, instead of spending that time with our children. The most important thing I have learned through experience, is that by thriving ourselves as working mothers, whether it be socially, spiritually, financially, or in any way that makes us feel good, and is our goal, then we have the strength to be the best moms we can possibly be

3 ) IF YOU HAD TO SHARE 3 THINGS ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY TO THIS INCREDIBLE SUCCESS, WHAT WOULD YOU SHARE WITH YOUR READERS?

Wow, only THREE THINGS?!! Haha…. It’s easy, Number 1: Staying true to myself during the whole process of building my brand has been crucial Which also means always being fully authentic with my clients and my team I think it makes it easier to attract people with the same passion. Number 2: Trusting MYSELF (my work ethic, my instincts, my business sense my sense of style whatever) has really pushed me to do things that I never thought I could do To me this has been the best part of building CAMILLA SERETTI on my own. Really learning to Trust myself during this process has given me confidence in ways that I never had before and is the driving force behind my constant desire to support women It also shows how much more we are capable of, if we give ourselves the chance, and have the right people around us

Number 3: How GRATEFUL I am for the people that have come into my life, through building CAMILLA SERETTI I never, ever could have imagined how enriched my life would become though all of the incredible people I’ve met, whether they are store owners that carry my line, clients who have purchased my jewelry, and have become friends, photographers that I have met on set while shooting my pieces, or the stunning model wearing it…or my employees, which I have learned so much from (good AND bad) I am beyond grateful every single day for all of these new relationships that I have been fortunate enough to create

4 ) I LOVE YOUR MOTIVATION TO EMPOWER WOMEN ALL OVER THE WORLD WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT TO YOU AND HOW DO YOU PLAN TO HELP WITH THIS MOVEMENT?

I definitely do have an incredible urge inside of me to help empower women all over the world. I am a girl’s girl! And I have 2 incredible daughters that are my absolute WORLD! I want them to grow up to be powerful, happy and kind women – that also want to help other women because that’s what it’s all about. Helping each other and learning from each other I’ve always felt that all of my mistakes and life experiences are worth so much more, if I can share them with other women, and maybe make their life experiences a little better, and their mistakes, a little smaller

5 ) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG LYRIC? WHY?

“Just throw it in the bag” by Fabolous https://www youtube com/watch?v=zJOeXh6HyvU
