The curriculum of the program include skill building workshops, a campaign simulation, a networking day at the Oklahoma State Capitol, a collaborative action project, panel discussions and personal debates with professors of OU Law. Women in the program learn first-hand how to use their leadership skills in professional environments. The activities the attendees participate in throughout the week target specific leadership skills to further hone their abilities to be successful leaders in their communities. McKee feels that the program set her up her for a successful career in her future. “I felt like every second of the conference I was just soaking up all kinds of wisdom and advice,” she said. “This conference was an incredible learning experience for me and I honestly

feel ready for my career in law and public service largely due to the things I learned at N.E.W.” The University of Oklahoma is looking for the next class of empowered women to participate in the 2019 program. Students can apply and visit the programs online webpage at www.ou.edu/wli for more information. The application is now open and the deadline for all applications is no later than Friday, March 8.
