CROOKED RIVER ELEMENTARY PBIS HIGHLIGHT
By Dr. Denise Cato, Director of Federal Programs and Special Projects/PBIS District Coordinator
"The River"
Crooked River Elementary School (CRES) is nestled in the center of Camden County and is affectionately known as "The River." The River is the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay community school. Dr. Mark Lang has served as the assistant principal for years. This year he has taken the helm as the principal. Along with serving the whole child, his approach is on continuing a healthy culture and climate for all. Mrs. Danielle Pocernik is a first-year assistant principal who has brought great energy, creativity, and excitement to all things at The River. Ms. Kristen Ziegler has been the PBIS Coach for over five years. Through her wit, love for students, and positivity, PBIS exudes from her pores.
This trio explains a few new initiatives implemented at CRES to continue high staff morale, to welcome our parents back to school life, and to figuratively and literally wrap their arms around the students. Fresh, new teacher recognition opportunities, student incentives, and PBIS family engagement activities are shared in this short video Their contact information is provided at the end of the video.

END OF YEAR FUN AT DAVID L. RAINER ELEMENTARY
The students at DLRES sure know how to wrap up the year! From arts and crafts, red carpet walks, and dances, they sure had some fun! Each year, DLRES 5th graders celebrate wrapping up their elementary years with a dance. Students who have attended DLRES from Kindergarten all the way through 5th grade get the privilege of painting a ceiling tile to leave a part of their legacy on the halls of DLR. On the last day, every student attended a talent show.
Students auditioned to show off their talents. It was exiting to see students come out of their shells and share what they do outside of the classroom. Each year, there is a special surprise performance by the 5th graders - this year's finale was "Nothin' but 90s."
Everyone from students to parents enjoyed the choreographed mixtures of dances! What a way to celebrate the end of a year!
