CCHS is conveniently located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, just five miles from Philadelphia, and nearby Routes 38, 70 and 130. We are called Camden Catholic because the school was founded in the city of Camden in 1887. It was the very first Catholic school in South Jersey! CCHS is the “home of the Irish” because, along with the Sisters of Mercy, the Brothers of the Holy Cross helped to found Camden Catholic. The Irish mascot was chosen as a nod to the Sisters’ origination in Ireland and the Brothers’ United States headquarters at the University of Notre Dame.

what if i’m not catholic?

You do not need to be Catholic to attend CCHS. Approximately 70% of our students are Catholic, and the remaining students may observe another Christian faith or are of a non-Christian denomination. Every student does participate in our faith-based activities and curriculum. The spiritual development of our students is of foremost importance and is infused into every aspect of our school day. Discussion of Catholic virtues and themes occurs throughout our curriculum, and every student participates in retreats and service projects as a part of their faith-formation and curriculum requirements.
Putting faith into action is essential to the Camden Catholic mission of mercy. Every student participates in service, allowing us to live out the Christian call to discipleship. More than 60% of CCHS students complete double the amount of required service hours as they recognize the value in serving others through the CCHS mission.
Class-level and more customized student-led retreats are abundantly available for students to grow their faith. These include: Kairos, Diversity, Young Men/Women, Catholic Performers for Christ, Catholic Athletes for Christ, and Service Retreats.

Our students live, and learn, differently. Our faculty, academic advisors and guidance office will meet you where you are academically, and encourage you to challenge yourself at a higher level of learning. CCHS’ curriculum expands as our world evolves. We are educating our students for careers that do not yet exist, by offering courses such as: Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Robotics, Engineering & Design and Design Thinking.

● Design Thinking: in order to prepare students for four years of problem and project based learning, this freshman course sets a strong foundation of 21st century technical, teamwork, project management, and communication skills.
● STEM Research Mentorships: students accepted to the STEM Research Mentorship program pursue a unique project based on their interests. They use problem based learning skills and design thinking to imagine, create, innovate and share their research.
● InSpire Internships: concentrations may include athletics, development, marketing and communications, sports medicine, video production. Interested juniors and seniors can apply to be a part of these hands-on, experiential learning opportunities while earning credit.
● College Partnerships: guaranteed admission and scholarship partnerships with Saint Joseph's University, The University of Scranton, St. Francis University, Manhattan College, Mount St. Mary’s University, LaSalle University, Spring Hill College, Neumann University and Holy Family University. Students are also guaranteed scholarships to these higher education institutions up to $140,000.
● AP Capstone: innovative and exclusive program that allows students to develop the skills that matter most for college success, such as research, collaboration, and communication. The program consists of two courses taken in sequence: AP® Seminar and AP Research. In AP Seminar, typically taken in 10th or 11th grade, students choose and evaluate complex topics through multiple lenses; identify credibility and bias in sources; and develop arguments in support of a recommendation. In the subsequent AP Research course, students design, execute, present, and defend a yearlong research-based investigation on a topic of individual interest. They build on skills developed in AP Seminar by learning how to understand research methodology; employ ethical research practices; and collect, analyze, and synthesize information to contribute to academic research.
● Experiential Learning: students are exposed to learning outside of the classroom with experiences including: annual Europe trip, Canada Tour, and the NextFab maker-space visit. Students also learn from the rich alumni network through our annual Career Day.
