We are students of class 7CB3 at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School.
Teacher Justin is a passionate science teacher who always seems to love what he‘s talking about and puts all of his energy into each lesson. He gives the class a calm and supportive presence. If the students have any questions, he is always be willing to explain.
As our main English teacher since grade 6, Teacher James has been our main inspiration growing up. Not only does he have a deep understanding of English (of course), but his teaching style is very engaging and fun which makes him unique, and brings joy and enthusiasm to the class. Teacher James also goes above and beyond to ensure each student understands the lesson, giving good advice and giving encouragement to all of us. As a student, we are very grateful for this guidance this year.
Mr. Michael is our English teacher at 7CB3. He is a strong looking-man, who is also friendly and always makes us laugh with his jokes. He can make difficult lessons easy for us to understand by giving funny examples.
Teacher Gordon has been our Maths and Science teacher for quite a long time at 7CB1 and 7CB2 class. His teaching style is very arousing, which keeps us active and does not make this class boring. He has an amazing ability to break down complex mathematical and Scientific concepts into the smallest pieces to help us understand more easily, which we are very pleased with. Whether it’s complex chemistry, he always explains it easily, the best part is. He was never hesitant to help, even with the slightest problem. What makes him special is that he is very dedicated to learning and teaching. He always makes this class alive. Thanks to him. We have learned a lot.
Teacher Alfie has a very creative and lively way to teach Maths which seems like a difficult and tedious subject. With challenging Math exercises he is always patient and encouraging to students
As our new English assistant teacher steps in, we don’t get together. but as the time goes on, she is an absolute hero. From explaining complex concepts to problems. She brings fresh perspectives and support to our learnings making a real difference in the arterial. This patience and dedication in teaching are fully appreciated. Thank you
Teacher Duc, brings joy and good explanations to the class, enriching the learning experience, and ensuring every student can clearly understand. His enthusiasm for Science and Math is truly appreciated. Making the class engaging and enjoyable. We’re lucky to have such a committed assistant teacher.
Teacher Hue is one of our teaching assistants who is extremely committed in ensuring that the students are focused and understand the lesson well. She’s alway ready to help with difficult questions and topics.
Nature resources, the latest unit we’ve ever learned was really interesting and exciting, similar to the other, but more unique. From pages 99 to 108, we studied lots of new knowledge and skills. Nevertheless they were pretty difficult to remember. Regardless, this unit was still fun and enjoyable. This unit sums up all the things that are related to nature, including energy resources from the environment, how plants photosynthesis, forest, eco – friendly and biodiversity. Unlike the earliest units we’ve come across, unit 5 ( mostly topic 5.3 ) jowses on increasing the eco – awareness of people, especially students and teachers about nature sustainability and mother nature. Not only that, on topic 5.4 we learned to use water
To illustrate, unit 5: natural resources has considerably widened our vocabulary, which helps in understanding magazines and news. After this unit, our habits have changed positively. As an example, instead of using plastic bags, we used biodegradable bags from paper or leather. Additionally, we recycled plastic bottles, using them as a plant pot or a plant waterer. In conclusion, it has been a memorable and extraordinary experience throughout the unit.
precisely because water is a finite natural resource, it’ll eventually run out some days. The fifth unit has supported us in making our own writings more articulate and formal. In addition, unit 5 enhances our acknowledgement about the environment, which is useful topics that are nature – related. From my point of view, this unit has brought tons of unforgettable memories, including exploring memorising new words and creating positive habits.
In unit 2 we learned many things that were new for us. We’ve learned about architecture. We learned about what the shapes are called, some of them we already knew but some others that are really new to us.
In 2.3, we learned about the design of things around us. There are many types of design around us that’s out of my understanding before we learned it.
Next one was 2.4. I think that 2.4 is combined with 2.3 and 2.2 because 2.2 is talking about shapes and 2.3 is talking about design. Unit 2.4 shows you the shapes and the design of buildings. It shows the different design of buildings, not like 2.3. In the next unit 2.5 we learned about homes in the desert.
First of all, generally about unit 3 – my favourite unit in the whole Global English book 8, the unit where we learned about our society, our own community, our town, city, neighbourhood to schools discussion.
In 3.1 lesson, we learned about cities, learning a lot of new vocabulary to describe cities. In grammar we learnt how to make sentences more “common” by phrases like take off, sit down, pick up. 3.4 is my favourite of all, we have a long text telling about a special town where houses are painted colourfully because the old one was too drab – by only one colour.
We also have a discussion about “how to improve a neighbourhood’s quality” with our tiny group. The 3.3 is about the advantages and disadvantages of living in a city and the countryside, what’s different between them. We listen to people talk about which one they prefer, a countryside or a city. 3.4 is about our community like ways to make difference, being a volunteer or organising an event for charity, sounds interesting. The 3.5 is about Finland – the happiest nation in the world with actually a perfect life from incomes and social support, people, rules. The “happy lesson” 3.6 we learned about how to be happy and what is happiness. From my point of view, this is the most practical and useful lesson in the whole unit that we can use in our life. 3.7 and 3.9 are about literature. We learned how to improve our writing skills and poems which impressed me the most just after the “happy lesson”. The 3.8 is a project challenge, every unit has one project like this but this time is about designing a mural and planning an event, cool right?
Ngọc Hân, Anh Đức, Đào Châu and Văn Anh - 7CB2
In the whole semester, the thing that attracts my curiosity is about the creation of brands in Unit 4. I am really curious about other brands’ creation of logos stories. Because I have learnt about Lacoste’s creation of logos stories, and I am actually really interested in it. I think it is really important to have something to represent our brand, so it will be special! I also learnt that there is no such thing as becoming famous from the start, it really takes hard work, researching and time to step towards success. From everything I have learnt from that unit, I hope I can have more experience in making a logo for my own brand in
the future, my brand’s logo will be the most special one in the world. The thing that I enjoyed most is about creating our brand’s logo by ourselves. Because I can immerse myself in my imagination with plenty of colourful logos, meaningful logos, interesting logos. And I am very happy to create something that symbolises my efforts, the time that I spent to create it. In my opinion, I think to have a good logo, you should explore and research about the topic that you are confused about. You should pick a topic that you think that matches you the most. I hope you have a good experiment!

In this unit,we gonna learn about data and how to collect data.It can be incredibly beneficial in real life. Some new skills and knowledge such as empowerment: Understanding how data is used, collected, and why it’s collected can empower you to make informed decisions;critical Thinking: It helps develop critical thinking skills, enabling you to analyze and interpret data effectively and informed decisions: You’ll be able to make better decisions using data, whether it’s for personal or professional purposes.
PROJECT: COLLECTS DATA
We can use 2 ways to survey: Interview or Questionnaire. Then we need to make an excel or make a bar chart to give a conclusion. The project went very smoothly. This projects helps us to:
+ Increase solidarity
+ Know how to work in groups
+ Increase confidence
In our opinion, this project was very exciting and useful, helping us gain a lot of experience when conducting surveys as well as working in groups in the most effective and efficient way.
Diệu An, Việt Phương, Hiền Trang and Linh Anh - 7CB2
In this unit 8, we learned about shapes, including the circumference of a circle, 3D shapes, and regular shapes. Honestly, I think it’s quite useful when applying the formulas to real life for calculations. Also when we understand shapes helps in developing pattern recognition, a crucial skill for reading and mathematical comprehension later in life. in 3D shapes, if we learn to distinguish between circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles, we engage in critical thinking processes. We were enthusiastic, raising our hands to speak and focusing during that class. We felt quite interested in it.
We were enthusiastic, raising our hands to speak and focusing during that class.
In Unit 9, we will have 4 parts:
9.1: Generating sequences: In that lesson, we learned about: how to generate sequences. You can generate a sequence when you are given the first term and the term-to-term rule.
9.2: Finding rules for sequences: In that lesson, we learned about how to find rules for sequences. Example: 2; 4; 6, so, the nth term is: n x 2= 2n.
9.3:- Using the nth term: In that lesson,
we learned about how to use the nth term. You can also write the positionto-term rule as an nth term expression. Replaced the word position number to “n”. Example: 2n+3.
9.4: Representing simple functions: In that lesson, we learned about how to represent simple functions. A function is a relationship between 2 sets of numbers. You can draw a one-step function as a function machine, like this input -> 1 -> +5 -> output -> 6. We learned some tips such as: go into the function: Input, come out the function: Output.
Diệu An, Việt Phương, Hiền Trang and Linh Anh - 7CB2
In that lesson, we learned about percentage increases and decreases. You must write the increase as a percentage of the original price. In addition, we will learn a more efficient way to calculate percentage increases and decreases (Multiplier = new value/original value). It is quite normal, but sometimes we feel a little confused with it. We think it is very interesting, we can practice a lot about multipliers and have many to do it.
Diệu An, Việt Phương, Hiền Trang and Linh Anh - 7CB2 Diệu An, Việt Phương, Hiền Trang and Linh Anh - 7CB2Science has been one of the most fascinating subjects this year at Cambridge. During grade 7, we experienced many interesting moments and unforgettable memories because of science. Conducting experiments in science class makes learning science more enjoyable, and we feel very happy when we learn new things from our teachers.
What I have learned in Science?
In science class, we learn about different topics such as reactants and mixtures, human anatomy, nutritious meals, space and planets, and different forms of energy like light. We also study the structures of plants and their functions. This is just an overview of what we learn in science class as there are still many more topics that we explore.
My favorite project
In my opinion, the project that we made rainbow is the best project I have ever done. The project is about how to make a rainbow by using light rays. We are very interested in that project and I hope I can make a more interesting project like that project.
When it comes to science, the knowledge we acquire is fascinating and enriching. I find it very engaging to work on science projects because it allows me to apply what I’ve learned in a hands-on manner, making the learning process even more enjoyable. Moreover, science is a field that never ceases to amaze me with discoveries and innovative technologies. During science lessons, we get to explore and experiment with these exciting concepts, which makes the learning experience both educational and entertaining. This way, we can keep ourselves engaged in learning and avoid feeling bored or uninterested.
-Classes need to be supplemented with practical lessons to help students understand the exercises better.
-The teacher should also explain the course reactions more thoroughly to help students understand more about chemicals and sciencerelated things.
Gia Phát, Vũ Minh, Gia An and Trúc Linh - 7CB1
Science is precious for learning, we use science everyday, everywhere, everytime. In this year, we were learning new but related knowledge from the last year so it is pretty simple to understand, only if exams are full of tricky questions. At the start, we were a bit confused about respiration and the respiratory system in unit 1, the structures and their functions are very complicated. In addition, the gas exchange and energy release take a part in making us feel more curious. In conclusion, we have an experiment to compare Co2 content of inspired air or expired air and investigate the volume of air we put out of our lungs. Through the experiment, we could see how lungs work, and also the movement of air inside the body.
Việt Dũng, Phan Quân, Minh Tuấn and Như Khang - 7CB2
We were making pics or models of blood. There is a small part of structure inside lungs called “ air sacs” or “alveoli”, it exchanges the gas into blood, moving all around the body and next up with reseasing into energy, that’s the main point that we learned in the first unit.
There have been several hypotheses about the structure of atoms over a long period of time, beginning with the discovery of atoms by JJ Thomson. In his initial model, he proposed that atoms consisted of positively charged matter with electrons scattered throughout.
However, after many decades, Ernest Rutherford’s famous gold foil experiment led to a revised understanding. Rutherford proposed a completed diagram of atoms in which electrons orbited around a central nucleus containing protons. This model became the default structure of atoms that we still use today.
Around 30 years later, in 1932, James Chadwick received a Nobel Prize for his discovery of the neutron, a neutral particle, within an atom’s structure. Despite these advancements, there still exists some misunderstanding among people regarding atoms.
Nevertheless, scientific inquiry continues unabated, with researchers striving to deepen our understanding of atoms. Through experiments in chemistry and other scientific disciplines, we aim to uncover more about the nature of atoms, their reactions, and the products they form.
Lights give the knowledge of reflection and refraction. We can describe how light is reflected from a plane surface through the law of reflection and describe how light refracted at the boundary between air and glass or air and water. From that, we can describe how light changes speed when it passes between different substances and draw ray diagrams to show these phenomena. Lights are made from many colors and white light can be dispersed through a prism. The correct order of white lights’ colors are red-orangeyellow-green-blue-indigo-violet. When colors of light are added or subtracted, they can create a colored light for humans to see. We can see different colors through this application of absorption or reflection. Galaxies contain dust, gas, stars and other solar systems. There are spiral and elliptical galaxies and a total of 100 billion of them in outer space. In galaxies there are asteroids, which are smaller-than-planet rocks. Scientists believe they are left from the formation of the Solar System.
Việt Dũng, Phan Quân, Minh Tuấn and Như Khang - 7CB2
An exothermic reaction, also known as burning, releases heat into the surrounding area. The final temperature must be higher than the starting temperature. Examples of exothermic reactions include combustion fuel in vehicles, burning metal in the air (such as magnesium), and reactions involving placing metal into water (sodium, potassium) or dilute acid (hydrochloric acid), which also release energy. In contrast, an endothermic reaction absorbs heat or energy from the surroundings to occur. The final temperature will be lower than the starting temperature. Examples of endothermic processes include melting ice, evaporation, and using cool packs. Endothermic reactions include eating ice cream or frying eggs in a pan. By understanding these reactions, we can distinguish between the two types and recognize the difference between endothermic and exothermic processes.
A reaction differs from a process in that a reaction forms a new product, whereas a process maintains the same material but changes its form
Việt Dũng, Phan Quân, Minh Tuấn and Như Khang - 7CB2
Science is an incredibly captivating subject, full of wonder and endless possibilities. Every lesson and experiment we undertake in class is not only informative but also incredibly engaging. The knowledge and skills I have acquired from studying science are truly invaluable, and they bring me immense satisfaction. As the school year comes to an end, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia, and I look forward to the opportunity to learn and explore new scientific horizons together once again in the future.
Gia Phát, Vũ Minh, Gia An and Trúc Linh - 7CB1Kymviet is a cafe with an area of nearly 400 square meters combined with a craft workshop that makes handcrafted items such as handbags, teddy bears, etc with the hands of people with disabilities. This trip has helped students like us understand the hardships or optimism of people whose circumstances are more difficult than other people.
In addition, we also learn sign language such as counting numbers from 1 to 10, introducing ourselves, and playing games like finding people blind folded, or wearing clothes without using our hands. This helps us understand more about the difficulties of people with disabilities and helps us get close to them.
Bảo Tâm, Gia Linh, Bảo Linh, Nguyễn Châu and Ngô Châu - 7CB2
When we arrived at Kymviet, we visited the teddy bear factory and observed the process of making a teddy bear. We were able to see production steps to make a teddy bear. We feel it’s magical because the people who work there are disabled people but the products they create are amazing.
Bảo Tâm, Gia Linh, Bảo Linh, Nguyễn Châu and Ngô Châu - 7CB2
Not only that, we also had the experience of making teddy bears at Kymviet (teddy bears with diverse shapes such as stars, fish, cats,...), and drinking drinks made by the staff themselves. The drinks there are really delicious. At the end of the session, we took the time to talk with the founder of Kymviet. This conversation helped us understand more about Kymviet and about the values in life.
The trip to Kymviet taught us many things about people with disabilities, but the most surprising thing about them was their effort and spirit. In spite of being disabled, they are optimistic people. They smile a lot, and they don’t feel separate from the world. We think that’s very respectable. They are also very hard-working. I could see that all of them work in happiness together. They not only work for themselves, but also for their community.
A memorable time there was watching people with disabilities make finished products. They also taught us how to put cotton into very big and beautiful stuffed animals. It was a new experience for us. Everyone was friendly, and they taught us with a lot of detail and happiness. Although communication was a bit difficult, everyone seemed to be very enjoy and happy.
Bảo Tâm, Gia Linh, Bảo Linh, Nguyễn Châu and Ngô Châu - 7CB2
We have learned a lot from our trip to Kymviet. They taught us to always be optimistic whoever you are. In addition, we need to be hard-working for ourselves and our community. These lessons are very useful for us in our life.
Mid-Autumn Festival is a significant traditional holiday celebrated a year.
This year, we had a very interesting MidAutumn lesson. In addition to expanding their vocabulary, the children also get to participate in challenges to learn about the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival cakes and creatively create the cake we desire.
Halloween! You’ve probably heard of it before. It is a world famous festival. On that day, we dressed up in costumes like ghosts, zombies, grim reapers and went trick or treating. In Cambridge, our teachers stuck notes around the class, with the definition of each word that is related to halloween.
For Christmas, we celebrated at the end of December. In our class, we made things to hang on a Christmas tree like gingerbread men, reindeer and candy canes with colours. That was such a great experience.
Tet: Tet is a traditional festival and it is famous in Asia. Although we are studying in a Cambridge class, we still celebrated it with writing calligraphy and exploring traditional activities such as making Chung cake.
One of the things I remember most during the school months is the Monthly challenge activity. Each month, we are often encouraged by our subject teachers to create and create individual products, talk about topics and events we have learned about, or appear that month. Monthly challenges are often about topics such as social issues, and hyped events... They give us more opportunities to gain more knowledge about famous events, or popular topics. In my opinion, I like the August challenge, talking about the issue of forest fires, it allows us to explore more from different perspectives, how individuals give their thoughts, as well as a solution to help improve the general condition.
Minh Khuê - 7CB2Cambridge teachers give us monthly challenges, giving us the opportunity to better understand the beautiful cultural traditions in Vietnam and countries around the world, or better understand the current state of the environment as well as the environment. give your own opinion on each phenomenon, event, person, personality, etc. Or there are small competitions opened in challenges. monthly, helping us practice more writing skills and vocabulary when encountering a text. But in all the
monthly challenges from August to January (Environment - Bushfires, Now-Then Mid Australia, Kind People, Christmas Customs from Around the World, Now-Then Tet) there is a special challenge that impressed me the most: Kindness of People, that challenge was a moral lesson and a shining example for us to follow to preserve and promote precious qualities. That price is even more wonderful.
Hiền Trang -7CB2
Monthly challenges teach us a lot about society, they give us chances to know more about people, events, festivals and culture from the past to the present such as Tet holiday, Mid-autumn festival, forest fires or Christmas customs from all over the world. But the most interesting challenge for us is “ write about the kindness of people” in October. Because this challenge helps us understand that people can do nice things in many different ways. I can express my feelings about how people treat others in need.
Linh Trang, Vân Khánh, Nguyễn Khánh, Zi Han - 7CB3Monthly challenge is an educational activity in which students can learn many things about festivals, culture, and society. We have done a lot of interesting challenges such as Christmas, Tet and Mid-Autumn Festival then and now. But the challenge that we think is the most meaningful is about “Teacher’s day”. In this challenge, we had a chance to show our gratitude to teachers, who always help us in studying and learning new things.
Bảo Tâm - 7CB2
Throughout the year, we had monthly challenges. They are challenges our teachers set for us. We completed the challenges each month for which were not only prizes offered, but were also a checkpoint for our progress. They are not just a quiz or questions, but they are things that are actually meaningful. For example, The December monthly challenge was to make a video of ourselves using language to sing “Merry Christmas” to send to the deaf workers that gave us a wonderful experience on the field trip as a thank you.
Congratulations to

I really like Writing contest in this school year. This contest brings us opportunities to look back through an old year and show expectations for a new year. Besides, the rewards of the contest motivate us a lot to take part in. We hope that we will have more writing contests next school year.
Võ Khoa Nghị - 7CB1
I would like to thank everyone who helped make this writing challenge feasible for me, as well as those who encouraged and supported me in doing so. Thanks to the competition, I was able to write more, set goals for the future, and reflect on the past.
“The gem cannot be polished with our friction, nor man perfected without trials”. Ring the Golden Bell is a competition that helps us challenge ourselves and overcome our limits. We explore the knowledge we have and create strategic unity within our team to achieve championships. But I think that, when participating in this challenge, we have all overcome our own limits and we will continue to look for new challenges. We would like to thank the teachers for creating this useful intellectual playground for us.
Another season of “Ring the Golden Bell” has passed, leaving many memories and emotions for the CB class and teachers. This year, the format and rules of the game were more innovative than last year. Instead of individual competition, this year the competition was in teams and included three rounds: Kickoff, Knockout, and Final.
At the end of the school year, we experienced the Cambridge Challenge (also known as the Golden Bell) for grade 7 students. In this challenge, we had a chance to recap all the lessons and knowledge we learned this year. Besides that, three Cambridge classes also competed in skills such as vocabulary, grammar, reading, math, and science. All the competitors felt excited and tried their best to win the competitions. My team only got second prize. I hope that we will be thechampionsnextyearbygainingmoreknowledge. Through this activity, we spent quality time and created memories with our teachers and friends. We want to express our appreciation and thanks to our teachers for creating this challenge.
Before the competition, we were very excited when we heard about the prize we would receive if we won, and everyone wanted their team to win. This made the competition both exciting and a bit stressful and nerve-wracking. Thank you to the Cambridge teachers for providing us with a platform where we can both study and have fun. Additionally, this event helped us strengthen our group solidarity, learn how to work in teams, and provided moral training. Thank you for everything!

The most memorable moment we had at Kymviet was when we visited their teddy bear factory. It’s just a small place where people with disabilities dedicate themselves to perfecting products. The trip to Kymviet taught us many things about people with disabilities, but the most surprising thing about them was their effort and spirit. In spite of being disabled, they are optimistic people. They smile a lot, and they don’t feel separate from the world. We think that’s very respectable. They are also very
hard- working. I could see that all of them work in happiness together. They not only work for themselves, but also for their community. We have learned a lot from our trip to Kymviet. They taught us to always be optimistic whoever you are. In addition, we need to be hard-working for ourselves and our community. These lessons are very useful for us in our life.

In our warm and cozy classroom, there are lots of things that happen every day from Monday to Friday. But there are some special moments that we can’t forget. From field trips to classroom specials, there is a lot more than that. We went to Kymviet to learn about the heartwarming story of disabled people which we won’t forget
about. And now the classroom special moments were unforgettable, there are many but most of them were from our classmates and teacher who made the class become a comedy show and very amusing.
Sơn Anh, Phúc Cường, Bảo Huy and Phạm Minh Châu - 7CB2 dThank you teachers for letting us experience such a wonderful place to open our eyes and help with all our hearts those in difficult circumstances.
We really appreciate you stepping in to support us. Your expertise was vital for our learning and we couldn’t have finished this school year successfully without you. Thank you!
Thank you, parents, for reminding us, worrying about late nights due to meeting deadlines for presentations, and providing a good learning environment for us. 7CB2 has great friends and teachers. The class members have contributed many wonderfulthings, suchassharingmoments, knowing how to love and comfort each other, sometimes helping each other in studying, and doing jokes to create a 7CB2 filled with laughter. Thank you teachers for your enthusiastic lessons. Even though the lessons are stressful, we can grasp the lessons well. But beside that, we also have really fun lessons with experiments, games with friends and teachers. They not only teach the knowledge in books, but also impart their knowledge about everything to students. Thank you teachers, parents and friends. Thanks for everything that has come to 7CB2, whether sad or happy, it is still a piece of our memories. Let’s try our best for the next journey. Thank you 7CB2!
