We also learned about sports and places all around the world. Each topic helps us with understanding the history and traditions of many countries.
Kiều Khanh, Thuỷ Anh, Hoàng Quân, Đăng Anh, Minh Ngọc and Bảo Ngọc - 6CB1.1
English is the best Cambridge subject for us students. Our teacher taught us various topics and often organized entertaining and educational games. We completed many presentations as projects, engaging in teamwork, and our teacher checked them for us, providing tips on how to improve for next time. English lessons are always exciting for us! Allow us to share our favorite lessons, projects, and activities from our English classes.
Thanh Phong,
In Unit 1, we learned about how to greet people from other cultures. We had to write and design guides. The teachers divided us into 5 groups and distributed A4 papers to students.
In Unit 2, we were taught about different cultures. We had to design a poster with information about festivals from different countries like Thailand and China. We were deeply impressed by the class where we designed posters about festivals around the world and then presented them to the whole class. During this lesson, we felt like we were in a real exhibition space.
Ngọc Anh, Hoàng Bách, Minh Tâm, Minh Quân and Hoàng Nguyên - 6CB1.2 Nhật Vy, Kim Ngân, Gia Huy and Triều Vũ - 6CB2.1 Nhật Vy, Kim Ngân, Gia Huy and Triều Vũ - 6CB2.1The third project in our English lesson was about presenting a traditional item of clothing from the museum of ethnology. We learned so many things like the names of the items, what they were used for and etc. The thing everyone liked most about doing this project was going to the museum for our research.
Kiều Khanh, Thuỷ Anh, Hoàng Quân, Đăng Anh and Bảo Ngọc -6CB1.1
Throughout the year, we gained significantly more knowledge about reading, writing, and improved our listening and speaking skills too, thanks to our great Cambridge teachers.
Kiều Khanh, Thuỷ Anh, Hoàng Quân, Đăng Anh and Bảo Ngọc - 6CB1.1
The last project was about planning for a walking trip that takes five hours or more. When we were trying to choose the place for the trip, we got to know many ideal places to have a walk in Vietnam. Even though the whole project was fun, we liked writing the script the most, it helps with our writing skills. Second reason we liked that project so much is because we love to plan things. The third reason is we are quite happy with the members in our group in those projects. My whole group enjoyed working on the project because we talked and laughed a lot. We found looking for a place to talk about what to pack, what to do, what to wear a lot of fun and we got to spend time talking together. This project will always be one of our favorite projects.
Maths is one of our class’s favourite subjects. A semester has passed and we have learned a lot in every lesson. We have learnt 14 units covering ratios, fractions, negative and positive integers, graphs and more.
Math project: Angles clock, 3D shapes and historic buildings.
Maths is always an interesting subject for us students. We have learned lots of things. Mr. Alfie always teaches us very thoroughly. We also did a lot of projects. We had the opportunity to learn about
3D shapes and were taught how to build 3D models of famous buildings in the world like Big Ben in London, The Pyramid with The Sphinx in Egypt and the Lighthouse. We made an angle clock, which is very useful for angular measurement. We all had a good time.
Thanh Phong, Ngọc Anh, Hoàng Bách, Minh Tâm, Minh Quân and Hoàng Nguyên - 6CB1.2.
The 2D Earth model is one of the most fun experiments we have ever done. The project teaches us about what is inside the Earth and the fun part of the project is that we use a lot of different coloured circles to create the Earth, which helps everyone with their creative skills.
Through this interesting experiment, we have learned a lot. The project is about hearing sounds through cups and the best part about this project is that we can craft a toy telephone out of a rope and 2 paper cups, then we talk through it. We enjoyed most talking through the telephone and we have learned about how sounds can travel, even in a solid.
This is our first lab activity and it helps us to see what cells look like. In this experiment we looked at the animal cells in our mouths and the cells in the tissues of an onion. Although we couldn’t see anything, the best part we enjoyed doing was making the microscope slides. After completing this project, we had learnt how to prepare a microscope slide and how small a cell is.
This was one of the best projects we did. Making a model of a cell helps us to understand them better and what they do. We made the parts of a cell using a lot of colourful paper and strings. The result afterwards looks very nice.
Properties of materials to separate mixtures
We really enjoyed this lab activity and it was the first time we had to work with test tubes and chemicals. The activity was about separating sandy, salty water into sand and salt. It is really fun to pour the sandy, salty water into the funnel and see what happens. After this experiment, we had learnt how to separate different substances from one another.
Nhã Thanh, Khánh Linh, Nguyên Vũ and Ngọc Linh - 6CB2.1.The Cambridge Programme hosted a fascinating field trip that took students on a colourful journey through the diverse clothing of various ethnic groups from Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and Malaysia. The Cultural Costume Project played a significant role in showcasing these unique attires and their cultural significance.
The Museum of Ethnology provided an ideal setting for this educational expedition. The field trip began with an engaging introduction to the culture and importance of traditional clothing in each country. This was followed by an interactive exploration of various exhibits, featuring intricate embroidery, vibrant colours, and unique patterns that tell the story of each ethnic group.
Throughout the trip, students engaged in activities to help with their presentation, such as taking pictures of traditional costumes and learning about the materials and techniques used in their creation. These activities allowed for a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical context behind these clothing styles.
One of the most memorable moments of the field trip was creating the costumes. Students used different materials such as paper, cardboard, fabric and other objects to create a colourful costume and present it to their friends and their teachers.
The knowledge and skills gained from this field trip can be applied in various aspects of daily life and future ambitions. By appreciating and understanding the significance of traditional clothing, students can develop a greater respect for diverse cultures and cross-cultural connections. This newfound awareness also contributes to our want for a more diverse and sympathetic society.
In conclusion, the Cambridge Programme’s field trip offered a brilliant and enjoyable exploration of ethnic outfits from different countries. The Cultural Costume Project successfully showcased the rich tapestry of cultural heritage, leaving students with a lasting appreciation for the beauty and significance of traditional clothing.
Halloween is the day when everyone dresses up as strange and scary characters. On Halloween, even though we didn’t dress up as anyone, the whole class had a lot of fun. Together we decorate the classroom and do cool and interesting projects for Halloween. Everyone has a happy Halloween together.
20/11 is the day that all Vietnamese students come together to send words of gratitude to the teachers who take care of us. On 20/11, we gave letters and sent best wishes to our teachers. We feel very happy and excited when we decorate and give letters to teachers. We love our teachers very much. We took some beautiful photos together.
During the holidays, our classroom transforms into a festive wonderland, with twinkling lights and colourful decorations that fill the air with joy and excitement. The spirit of Christmas brings us together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where laughter and happiness abound. As we get attracted to playful games like cup robbery, our competitive spirits soar, but the true prize lies in the shared moments of fun. Each year, Christmas reminds us of the magic of how we reunite together and the simple joy of giving and receiving love.
At Christmas, we give each other gifts filled with affection and have fun times. Christmas is the most lovely and anticipated day for all children in the world, including us. We decorated our class with a Christmas tree, full of light. The classroom becomes shiny and colorful. We get to play interesting games. We played cup robbery. When the game leader shouts “steal the cup”, two players standing opposite each other will steal the cup. Whoever steals first is the winner.
In Tết, we wrote calligraphy(thư pháp) and decorated flower blossoms. We had a lot of fun, excited. There was a Tet fair where everyone in our school was very excited, the food. It Was delicious:))))))) On the Tet holiday, we ate Chung Cake and received lucky money !!!
At the Mid-Autumn Festival, we played many interesting and useful games. At the Mid-Autumn Festival, we wear ao dai and go to give blessings. The whole class was very cheerful and happy.
Throughout the first year of Secondary school, the teachers in the Cambridge programme have made learning more interesting, more fun. How? Every month in our Cambridge classroom, we have a challenge called the monthly challenge. Each month, a challenge is made, it’s optional, but a lot of students join in because, if you do, you’ll get a prize and be potential in the hall of fame for monthly challenges. It’s unlike a contest and it is very fun to participate.
Minh Châu - 6CB1.1 and Minh Anh - 6CB1.2
In September, we had the Mid-Autumn Festival challenge, which we really enjoyed. A lot of us opted to create short dubbing videos related to the festival. This meant practicing numerous times to ensure our voice acting sounded smooth and authentic. However, there were also some who chose to do book reviews instead.
For the August challenge, the First challenge was choosing a book to read and complete the Book review (according to the form given by the teacher). The second challenge: we record a clip introducing 5 indispensable items in our school bag (in the clip, introduce our name, class, five items and their uses). Most of our classmates chose to read a book and provide the review.
It was really exciting with the Halloween challenge in October. All of us were enthusiastic about participating in the challenge of recording the phrase “Happy Halloween” in 5 different languages. Through this challenge, we learned some new words in French, English, Japanese, Korean, German, and more.
There are many monthly challenges in our Cambridge class, but the challenge in December was the most interesting. Students decorated their house with their family and recorded it on or recorded a video that said “Merry Christmas” in 5 languages. Doing monthly challenges helps us learn more about festivals, cultures, or something interesting about a holiday.
November is the month with an extremely sacred holiday, Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. We received four challenges. We mainly chose to undertake the challenge of writing a letter to our teachers instead of writing a poem, song, or filming a video. We hope our teachers smiled when they read them.
In my opinion, the January and February challenges were the best. It was Tet at that time so of course, the challenge had a topic related to Tet. We had to make a traditional dish with our family, record it, and post it on a Padlet. I did that challenge and it was so much fun! My family and I made Banh Chung, a traditional dish eaten at Tet. These challenges are so much fun and still educational, I hope that there will be more interesting challenges for us to do next year.
Minh Châu - 6CB1.1
There’s another challenge in January, it’s about making a video of you making a traditional dish for Tet holiday. I think this challenge is very meaningful to the new year.

I want to thank everyone that gave me a chance to win first place in the writing contest. I learned lots of new things like knowledge, skills, and how to express my feelings in words. It was an experience for me to learn new things.
Nguyễn Ngọc Anh - 6CB1.2
When I first heard about the “Goodbye 2023 - Hello 2024” writing contest, I knew I had to participate. After several days of hard work, the results finally paid off, earning me second place. I was awarded a notebook, a movie ticket, and a certificate. I have no regrets about joining this competition; it was not only interesting but also helped me revisit cherished memories and enhance my writing skills.
Each year, a game called “Ring the Golden Bell ‘’ will be held in Doan Thi Diem secondary school, this is only for Cambridge students. The game includes 30 questions about three subjects Math, English, and Science. At first, I was really nervous about the questions. The first question was a tricky one, so I thought about how hard the other questions could be. But after 10 first questions, I gained my confidence, I was sure I will get into the top 5. “Ring the Golden Bell ‘’ was very fun, and exciting, it also helps students review subjects. I hope that next year I will also get to the top 5 of this intriguing game!
Top 5 - Minh Châu - 6CB1.1
This Cambridge challenge really helped me with reviewing what I learned throughout the year and with gaining confidence. When I found out that I won, I was full of pride and happiness. I will also try my best next year!
Champion- Đăng Anh - 6CB1.1
The competition is very interesting. It’s really challenging, sometimesit gets really stressful.
Top 5 - Thanh Phong - 6CB1.2
aWhenIfirstgotintothiscompetition,Iwas bit too excited. But I always think that
“Yeah, maybe I won’t win this”. Whenever I’m in a competition, I’ll think negatively because I don’t have much faith in myself, I consider myself an unlucky person. But here I am! I’m in the top 5 of this competition. I was so proud of myself and also happy. How did I got in the top 5? Well, I’m not much of a skilled person, but I still have a little skill. Me and Minh Châu are both in the top 5 and Đăng Anh is the true champion.
Top 5- Ngọc Quang - 6CB1.
My feelings about the Cambridge Challenge is that it is insane. I have to be fast and smart enough to get into the Top 5 so I was very lucky. My legs felt numb. I was very sad that I couldn’t be the champion but I think my prize for being in the Top 5 is reasonable.

Memories are emotions that make us feel good about the things we do. In grade 6, we have had lots of memorable moments which are very precious. Especially when we learned together and had a lot of conversations and events. Such as when we went to the Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi. There are always competitions and this is not an exception. Therefore to increase competition and learning, teachers mixed both of them. On the day of the sightseeing, we need to run around and collect information as much as we can.
Learning also goes hand in hand with achievement. For nearly 1 year, each of us certainly had pride and made it like our endeavor. That pride also makes us more confident than other people and proves our efforts over time. For example: [Be one of the people who can get into the final round of a challenge; be one of four students of one semester; …]
We have all learned some new things, especially when we learn some topics like
sports, outdoor activities, and traveling. A class like us always likes to play some games that the teachers make. In Cambridge English, Mr. James trolls us by clicking 2 twice on a person who completes their work and says that he only clicked 1 time, he randomly chooses a student and points his finger at another to check if we are listening. It makes us spicy but we all laugh. That is a good time for us to spend time playing with our teachers.
Like everyone else in the class, everybody has their obstacles to overcome. When we overcome it, we will learn our lesson is ‘Don’t give up, keep trying until you reach your own goal’.
If there are advantages, of course, there would be disadvantages, right? In grade 6, we had lots of fun activities and experiments accompanied by lively conversations. But that’s why it causes disorder. We hope that when I reach 7th grade, it will be improved. You might also call us a “Mischievous class” but we are lively and love all our lessons.
It was a meaningful school year for us. We made a lot of good memories. We were able to see cells using microscopes in science class .Star stamps that are given by our teachers can be converted into gifts. Another good memory was the when our teachers took us to the Vietnam Museum of Ethology. We were able to see with our own eyes the traditional clothes of other countries and learn about them. The most special thing for us was the
birthday of Mr.Justin and Mr.Micheal.Those days made the whole class and teachers very happy. Perhaps what we fear most about next year is the curriculum becoming more and more difficult. We worry that we will be negligent in our studies. But we believe that the enthusiasm and dedication of the Cambride teachers will help us study better and achieve more.
The first thing that pops into our minds when we think about grade 6 is Women’s Day, which was the most fun day ever. We had a small party in class where the women received flowers or presents. The Christmas event was also fun. We decorated a tree and played games. The next event was Tet. For Tet, we decorated the classroom. We also ate chung
cake that we made. During Tet, Doan Thi Diem also organised a fete to sell special Tet products from stalls. This year, tests and projects were very difficult. We hope that next year, we’ll have more honor students and go on another school trip, like another museum to learn about other countries.

We are thankful to our lovely teacher, Ms. Phuong, who is our homeroom teacher. She had held many parties and made presents for us. We wanted to take a moment to thank her for helping us, taking care of us and teaching us many things that we will always remember. She helps us with our problems with our behavior or studies. She takes care of us in our single trips

Not just her, every single teacher that teaches us and our classmates too. Our teachers also teach many subjects and lessons that help us with our life. We are very grateful to them all.
