53rd Senior School House Music Competition
53rd Senior School House Music Competition
We enjoyed a wonderful evening last night as all students in the Senior School competed in our Annual House Music Competition. The House Music Competition is run entirely by the students themselves. Each House selects its items for the instrumental and choral sections. We are grateful to the large number of parents who came along also to support this event. The quality of the performances this year was very even and our Adjudicator, Dr Jonathon Welch AM, found it very difficult to separate the work of the choirs and instrumental ensembles. Congratulations to Steven House, which emerged with a history-making third successive win. This competition requires the active participation of every student in every House, and it requires them to work together at a task which many of them find difficult, and for them all to overcome any inhibitions they may have about singing in public. The end result is a wonderful illustration of what our students can achieve when they have a clear vision and a dedicated sense of purpose. Congratulations and thank you to all involved – Heads of House, House staff, Student Conductors, Arrangers and Performers – and also to Mr Ben Bishop and his talented Music Staff for providing the support and guidance required to make this such a wonderful event. Congratulations go to the first three place winners:
