Director of Formation and Parish Life Rector Full Time (40 Hours)

Essential Functions: Calvary Church seeks a Parish Life and Formation Assistant to nourish the intergenerational life of the congregation. Parish Life and Formation Assistant will coordinate opportunities for faith formation, fellowship, and mission among the whole parish community, with particular focus on children, youth, and families. This position will be responsible for ensuring a free flow of communication that enables parishioners to be engaged in the life of the church, encourages connections with the broader community, and allows clergy and other staff to be more aware of parishioners’ needs, concerns, and joys. Essential Gifts and Skills: Administration (including organizational and time management skills) Pastoral and energetic presence Enthusiasm for ministry with children, youth, and families Sense of humor Ability to connect with, listen to, and relate to, people of all ages Comfort with learning and using Squarespace content management system, Mailchimp email newsletter system, social media tools, and desktop word processing Duties and Responsibilities: Christian Formation Program: - collaborate with Rector to plan formation opportunities that reflect the liturgical seasons as well as ongoing offerings - ​work with the chair of the Children and Youth Renovation Team and members of the committee to plan and execute formation events - coordinate and support volunteers to provide meals for formation programs as needed - support logistics of parish quiet days and retreats - coordinate confirmation program with Rector - coordinate and support Children’s Chapel volunteers 1
