about the University, and discover the best ways to explore all that the campus has to offer.
California University of Pennsylvania is steeped in history. Founded in 1852 as California Academy, it has transformed itself many times — first as a normal school, then as a state teachers college, and again as a state college before becoming a University in 1983. E The campus has grown as well, from a handful of buildings in Cal U’s early days to about 40 that stand today. While the stately older structures reflect the University’s roots, the many new classroom buildings and residence halls demonstrate the University’s commitment to technology and innovation.
Don’t miss the beautiful Founders’ Garden adjacent to Old Main. Make a wish at the sparkling fountain in Old Main Park. Marvel at the exquisite stained-glass windows of Pennsylvania wildflowers in the Grand Hall of Old Main, as well as the other magnificent works of art located throughout campus. Be sure to check out Roadman Park and Adamson Stadium, home to the California Vulcans, or visit the SAI farm. If you are looking for some N excitement, head to the Natali Student Center. There’s always plenty going on. And check out CAL U’s Steele Hall — a first-rate CAMPUS venue for both local and COMPRISES regional performances.
