KAWUNG PHILOSOPHY The Kawung motif symbolizes the strength of the king, who serves as the world's supreme authority figure, human protector, and leader. In the center of the batik motif, surrounded by four circular figures, is the form of kingly power. According to Javanese belief, the universe's energy sources are represented by the four figures that surround the center.
