INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN

Hi, I’m Callie Freeze, and I’m currently pursuing a B.A. in Interior Architecture and Design at Harding University. My passion for designing spaces that cater to human needs has driven me to create innovative, one-of-a-kind projects. I’m deeply fascinated by how people interact with and respond to their environments, which fuels my design process. My designs go beyond aesthetics, focusing on crafting environments that enrich the human experience—spaces that are intuitive, inviting, and thoughtfully supportive of those who inhabit them. Traveling and experiencing new cultures inspires me greatly, and I believe the diversity of the world around us continues to push the design industry to evolve in bold, exciting ways. My passion for design grows with every opportunity to explore different lifestyles and ways of thinking. I enjoy every step of the design journey—from researching the target audience to adding the final touches to my presentation.

Step into an era of class and sophistication at The Brooksy, a 1920s boutique hotel where the glamour of the Art Deco period meets the timeless allure of mid-century modern and eclectic design. Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the hotel’s architectural features pay homage to the roaring twenties, with elegant lines, geometric patterns, and lavish details. Rich hues of deep teal, navy, wine red, and mustard create an exuberant atmosphere that is both vibrant and inviting. The lobby includes the reception, concierge, bell service, open seating areas, and a breakfast café.
Each corner tells a story, from plush velvet sofas to vintage-inspired lighting fixtures, catering to both the classy upper-class New Yorker and tourists alike.

To nurture a sense of community among employees, office “neighborhoods” are designed as home bases for each design sector, offering a place that fosters connection and belonging. These neighborhoods also encourage flexibility in daily tasks, creating an agile work environment that adapts to various needs. The design features warm colors, curvilinear lines, and dynamic forms, infusing the space with playful energy while maintaining an air of youthful sophistication.

Inspired by the L’Eixample district in Barcelona, Spain, Next is laid out like a neighborhood community. Just as the designer of Barcelona’s new city plan envisioned a city with a high regard for people’s need for leisure, health, and social relationships, Next wants to to mirror these values in its design.

Project
Senior Thesis
U.S. communities can enhance the integration of immigrants and refugees after federal assistance tapers off by creating informal, casual community centers that offer safe, welcoming public spaces for connection and support. Providing an approachable setting where newcomers can ask questions and access resources on employment, the education system, the healthcare system and legal issues, will encourage community engagement with both their fellow immigrants and the native-born members of their community. The informal atmosphere encourages open dialogue, reduces social barriers, and helps immigrants and refugees feel comfortable seeking the help they need, empowering them to build networks and gain confidence.
