Chamber Member Volunteer Opportunities Ambassadors

The Ambassadors work with the Chamber to assist in the recruiting of new members, retention of current members, serving as hosts at Business & Biscuits and Business After Hours, and planning and coordinating an annual Member Appreciation Day held in October. Mission: “To promote general membership services and enhance goodwill for the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce with the highest degree of professionalism, knowledge, and integrity; mastering in Recruitment, Retention, and Referrals.”

Military and Security Affairs Committee

The Military and Security Affairs Committee preserves, protects, and promotes the Military and Civilian Resources of the Armed Forces and Homeland Security through active support of our local military and governmental organizations, missions, and people.

Public Affairs Committee

The Public Affairs Committee researches issues, develops statements, and makes decisions known to elected and appointed officials. The Public Affairs Committee’s purpose is to represent and be a proactive voice for the members and the overall business community with all levels of government in order to improve and sustain a positive business climate.

Small Business Committee

The Chamber’s Small Business Committee plans and implements small business seminars and helps organize small business activities like the Business Awards and the Shop Local Campaigns. Mission: “To promote the growth, success and recognition of small businesses by promoting training, networking opportunities, and engaging public awareness.”

Partners in Education Committee

The Partners in Education Committee promotes and strengthens education within our community by providing job shadowing opportunities, mentoring for elementary and middle schools, participating in career fairs and school club days, and hands-on efforts for improved schools. Mission: “To establish and support partnerships between Chamber members and all levels of education to help utilize the community resources to enrich and extend educational opportunities leading to lifelong learning.”

Leadership Calhoun County

This program is designed “to prepare and build leadership resources within our entire county” with the class being comprised of leaders and emerging leaders. They receive an intense view of our civic and governmental leadership through direct contact with a wide spectrum of institutions that keep Calhoun County moving forward.

Salute to Industry Committee

The Salute to Industry Committee promotes and recognizes existing industries and the impact they have on Calhoun County.

Seminars, Workshops, and Luncheons

These include our Social Media Boot Camp and seminars on current topics of importance to our business community.

Ribbon Cuttings & Ground Breakings

The Chamber provides the ribbon and scissors for these events, recognizing new businesses. Other members are invited to attend, and a photo of the event will be published in the Chamber’s online and printed publications and social media pages.
