Completing minutes of the Contract meeting • Todd unable to be here today but does have another Provincial Contract Committee meeting scheduled for march 23, 2017 Spoke to Pat Ferminger on the minimum wage issue. There is no information at this time.

ACDS meeting with minister today to bring up this issue with him • Handed out an Information package for agencies to have a better understanding of the Story Bank Project and to clarify that this is a communication plan going forward. The workshops were well attended.

• Erin would like the contact information of those within agencies who attended to be on a distribution list to continue with their involvement and support in telling the stories. Committee engagement for this project is also welcome. Ryan, Alexi and Erin are the committee at this point.

DISCUSSION story page to their staff to begin collecting the stories staff throughout the agency may have. The story can be written by the agency of Catherine (facilitator) and summer student will work on developing the stories • Lobbying versus Advocacy In the past service providers were exempt to lobby or advocate on behalf of the individuals they serve. The GOV Auditor General has made recommendations that agencies no longer be exempt. This may have huge implications on how both parties work with each other.

CCVO has put a call to action and is asking agencies to respond immediately to the Government officials that need to know how this impacts our individuals: https://www.calgarycvo.org/lobbyists-act-callto-action/ A motion was made that the CSPC will submit a letter to the Premier, Joe Ceci, the minister, the chair of the Committee Chair etc

All review the call to action and recommendations on how to proceed

There is still confusion when trying to meet licensing accommodation standards when 4 or more people live in one home of whether Fire Inspection still needs to occur. Some inspectors say they do not want to enter the home as they will need to put into play the requirements they are bound by the standards and their ministry while other Fire inspectors have entered homes and approved the requirements for licensing. More information will be gathered and reported at a later date for Service providers.

A meeting will be held with URSA and OPG office to discuss goals for care on how best to support DNR or Green Sleeve (A Green Sleeve is a plastic pocket that holds your advance care planning forms). A suggestion was made to contact the UofC Disability Studies to get more information and Pam will report this information back to the group.

have to address Diversity and culture issues within their agencies. The new Comers Center provided the group with some of this needed information. CWFC continues to meet and be one of the Councils that is working on regional issues. Although the provincial strategic plan was ratified other regions have not begun the work needed to build our work force ACDS conference April 24-26, 2017. Early bird registration still in effect.
