16 year old Jack lives with his very protective mother in a small town called Ohio. Jack takes daily medicine that prevents his thick heart scar from opening. Although he has never forgotten to take his medicine that prevents his scar on his heart from opening,or so they say. Really he was born from a stone that was implanted in his heart. This stone is no ordinary stone though. It has the ability to unlock more physical power. On the day soccer tryouts were held after school he forgot to and to his amazement he is physically and mentally stronger. Strength, courage, more fierce was running through his blood. During the end of soccer tryouts, his rival Garret Lobeck tried to slide tackle him while he was making a shot. Just then a blinding light shines down and Lobeck is ended up smashed by the goalie pole and left with a bloody hip injury. At that point with aggression Jack is accused from Lobeck for fouling him. Obviously opposing Lobeck jack and the goalie disagrees with him.

She is the only person I live with really 5. Recently you meet a genealogy at the library, what do you think of him? Song analysis I consider the song, “Eye of the Tiger,” has the theme of not giving up and not losing your dreams. I say this because the song was intentionally made for the movie Rocky 3. The song possesses the lyrics: “Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of your past, you must fight just to keep them alive.” These lyrics I believe are saying that we shouldn’t give up on the dreams we had, and that we should keep chasing them. I believe that the song “Eye of the Tiger” does relate to Jack’s life since he still stands after having a pool of sweat on the floor. Jack is forced to battle his robust foes with courage, fearlessness, and with backbone. He is forced to learn how to physically and magically fight to survive. Jack is also forced to enter the Games, tournaments of battles to the death. With Jack’s willpower and compassion and the strength of the warrior stone and Shadowslayer, he survives. Because he uses his skills to survive and his will to survive, I believe Jack relates to the song, “Eye of the Tiger.”

Risin’ up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance Now I’m back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive

It’s the thrill of the fight Risin’ up to the challenge Of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And he’s watchSo many times, it ing us all with the happens too fast Eye of the tiger You trade your passion for glory Face to face, out Don’t lose your in the heat grip on the Hangin’ tough, dreams of the stayin’ hungry past They stack the You must fight odds just to keep them Still we take to alive the street For the kill with [Chorus] the skill to surIt’s the eye of the vive tiger

Poem

I am from a stone, a stone that thrived with and in my heart I am from the old medieval days; the days we call fantasy was reality I am from the days when the black arts exist, the days when wizards, warriors, enchanters you name it exist. I am from a family filled with bloodshed I am the prey gradually evolving into the predator The hunted to the huntsman The woodsman The Orion The chosen one and the wanted one I am the fading as a baby to a legend as a teen From the legacy my great grandmother left behind for me To the Stone implanted in my heart I am a Warrior A Champion A legend I Am The Warrior Heir

brings us into a medieval world full of bloodshed, black arts, and conflict. For example, Jack learns the truth about his family, the truth that his family is involved in “the games.” The games are barbaric fights between 2 people from 3 different families. These are no ordinary families though; they are born with special talents. Talents like sorcery, super strength, and the black arts in persuading. From this we can see how Jack’s life changes from a sixteen-year-old teen to a legend. This lures the readers into a whole new world that the main character is exploring and makes them want to read more of the book. I find this fantasy world fascinating and interesting to read about. When Jack finds his family’s legacy this interested me to read more of the book, This part in particular created suspense. “It was lighter in his hands than he expected, lighter than one would expect from its size of it. “Shadowslayer,” he whispered, as if the weapon spoke to him. And the power in the blade ran into his hands and up his arms as if, somehow, the sword were wielding him.” This story’s plot is interesting for Grade 8 students. Another reason I think that the series should be included in the Grade 8 curriculum is because it doesn’t

directly shows the character’s identity, but slowly sneaks them in. This hooks the reader in and makes us want to read more about the character. I find this captivating and outstanding in attracting readers. For an example pages 136 introduces a character hasting, then in pages 186 “She Gave Jack a quick kiss, looking over his shoulder at his tall companion (hasting).” Each chapter leaves the reader hanging to read more and or start the next chapter. For an example at the two last sentences of chapter five “The name on the paper was Leander Hasting. Trinity High School’s new assistant principle” The Warrior Heir has characters who have superbly described personalities. In conclusion I believe that the Heir Chronicles series should be included in the grade 8 curriculum. The reason that it is said by the author that it is going to be apart of Disney, The y plot that leers the reader in, and another reason is that it slowly seeks in the characters identity making the book more interesting. unrealistic fantas
