Message from the CCA

As anAssociation we are proud to represent our industry in providing a framework that enables businesses and communities to thrive.

At the CCA we aim to foster relationships between individuals and organizations that will provide the basis of truly great achievements in the built environment. With remarkable individuals and organizations throughout our industry that are marked by technical ability, craft, ingenuity and commitment we have so much to draw on.

Through our committees, work-groups and initiatives we confront the major issues and opportunities head on in order to both involve you in the work so that your voice is at the table, while also providing you with the insights that come from such stellar efforts.

Our CCA membership and the Board of Directors have represented many of the best individuals and organizations that have made up our industry in the City of Calgary for over 78 years. The commitment of many over the decades has allowed CCA to make a difference for all and the legacy still continues today.

That is what membership of CCA is all about- Being a part of a community that cares deeply about each other and the communities that we build.

As a champion of the industry and a voice on relevant issues with all levels of government and throughout society, we also strive to represent the industry and stand for the issues that are important to our members.

Our industry is resilient and, just like Calgary, we meet every challenge with characteristic resolve and a work ethic that has seen us through some tough times. Our contributions to the communities that make up our city and to our skyline are there for all to see and we will continue to build on what we started. The city that we have built is consistently voted one of the best places to live in the world and it is indeed a privilege to be a part of that as we move into the future.

Come and be part of writing the next chapter in our industry as we embark on the journey together.

ADVOCACY

Every industry needs champions locally, provincially and nationally and the Calgary Construction Association is no exception. We all need a voice! Often the unsung aspect of our work, this is a core focus of our association – and that voice is needed now more than ever before.

Advocacy is not just meetings & Op-eds. Advovacy is about delivering results and outcomes through direct engagement and earned influence around important issues on behalf of others that would not have happened without your involvement. We believe in partnering with other organizations, individuals and government stakeholders and collaborating to get things done on behalf of our membership.

Through the efforts of our Director of Government Relations, our advocacy efforts are focused on familiarizing ourselves with the policy environment in Calgary; creating key connections with stakeholders in the City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta, and changing the narrative around construction in Calgary.

To that end, we’ve developed important relationships with City Councillors, senior officials in the Mayor’s Office, City Administration, Provincial MLAs, and key Ministers with portfolio.

EDUCATION

Now more then ever, continuing education is paramount to future success in any industry. The current skill shortage is one of the biggest challenges facing the construction industry today. Our education and development offerings will help you differentiate from your competitors and leverage the talent within your company.

We offer a wide variety of in-house courses to help you and your employees enhance , sharpen skills and stay on top of the best business practices within the industry.
