Recognizing 2019 Industry Excellence Awards Recipients

Our first luncheon of this new decade on January 29 was a day filled with emotion, excitement and support. We had an overwhelming 206 members in attendance, all ready to start the year with positivity and to uplift colleagues. 2020 Chapter President Sascha Macias shared that the day was all about recognizing and developing leadership and celebrating the leaders within our own organization. She honored the memory of Kobe Bryant and asked for a moment of silence to remember him and those lost in the helicopter accident days before this momentous day, while recognizing him for his leadership and commitment to excellence.

Sascha thanked all of the Committee Chairs, Committee volunteers, past and present Board Members and recognized the past Chapter Presidents in attendance. After members of the 2020 Board of Directors were introduced, they pledged their Oath of Office. It was truly an incredible experience to watch so many members be recognized for all of their work and efforts for this organization. The members that were in the room were truly appreciative and excited for the chapter’s future and direction.
At the conclusion of Wendy Bucknum’s keynote presentation on servant leadership, I had the privilege of emceeing the Awards Ceremony. For 2019, there were more nominees than ever before, which reinforced our Chapter’s culture of inclusivity, celebrating and uplifting each other, and supporting one another. 2018 award recipients were invited to the stage to introduce the nominees in that category and announce the 2019 recipients.
It was truly a remarkable, emotional, and joyous day, celebrating the successes and achievements of friends and colleagues. Congratulations to all of the award recipients, as well as the nominees!
