PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE MR. NICK MOKHLESSIN

BRIGH TVIE W L ANDSCAPE SERVICES, INC.

O

ver the years, I have watched the Greater Inland Empire (GRIE) chapter of CAI deliver extraordinary value to its members time and time again. The committees of this chapter are the most engaged, leadership puts the development of its members first, and the membership itself is always so excited to see what is next. So what IS next? This year will bring new activities that safely foster the engagement that GRIE is known for, as well as creative opportunities for education. We overcame new challenges 2020 and I foresee 2021 being one of the best years yet. Our Board of Directors combines tenured leadership and new faces with divergent thinking. These dedicated volunteers, partnered with our Executive Director and chapter staff, will undoubtedly set the bar for what a successful CAI chapter looks like. Here is a guide-map for what we ask of the 2021 volunteers: Energy: For most members this is a volunteering opportunity, which is above and beyond their normal scope of work. We all must dig deep to summon the additional strength to bring to every interaction involving CAI, in order to continue with the journey. Effort: Whether it’s inviting 20 people to an upcoming event or showing up early for setup, you will get out of each event what you put in. We hear so many great stories about how valuable each event is from those who put forth the most effort. Don’t be outworked by your competitor and allow them to reach the top before you do. Enthusiasm: There is an Ancient Chinese Proverb that states, “The journey is the reward”, meaning that it is not where you end up, but the journey that will have shaped you. This demands a positive approach rooted in enthusiasm. Let’s all cherish this journey together. Taking inventory of all the things that make GRIE so great, our energy, effort and enthusiasm will be the road map for the journey to a great 2021. Focus and a commitment to what we are doing right at every step gets us to the top and together we will show that the Greater Inland Empire chapter is the team to beat. I am excited to serve as the CAI-Greater Inland Empire President for 2021 and thank you for your confidence. I look forward to working with all of you on our JOURNEY TO THE TOP.
