A word from the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,

This week at Cobram AGS has been filled with memorable events and a strong sense of community spirit. One of the standout highlights was the Valedictory Dinner.

The Valedictory Dinner celebrated the achievements of our graduating class in grand style The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and moments of reflection, as students, parents, and teachers came together to honour the journey of our Year 12 students. The atmosphere was perfect with the venue beautifully decorated and a sense of pride resonating throughout the room. It was not just a celebration of academic achievements, but also a recognition of the friendships and memories that have shaped the students’ lives at Cobram AGS

The night ended on a high note, with everyone agreeing it was a perfect send-off for the Class of 2024. And of course, we express our sincere congratulations to Madison McDiarmid for being announced as the 2024 Valedictorian. Madison was certainly a very worthy recipient of this award.

As we commence the run home to the end of the year, a quick check of our calendar reveals a very busy period of finishing classroom obligations as well as a number of co-curricular activities

I look forward to these last days and I trust all have a great weekend.

A Night to

Remember, Celebrating a Group We'll Never Forget

On Thursday evening, we came together to honour our incredible Year 12 graduates, surrounded by their proud families, friends, and teachers The evening was a testament to the strong bonds of connection, respect, and friendship that define this cohort.

A highlight of the night was the announcement of Madison McDiarmid as the 2024 Class Valedictorian. Madison captivated the audience with her beautiful reflections on 13 years spent at Cobram AGS. Congratulations, Madison, on this welldeserved recognition

We extend our sincere thanks to The Right Reverend Clarence E. Bester, Bishop of Wangaratta, for presiding over the Liturgy service alongside Father Victor Adams. A special thank you also goes to Nicolene Gossayn, who delivered a moving speech on behalf of the parents. We also wish to express our gratitude to Amy Duhring, Sue Charlton, Mrs Shea Doyle and Mrs Carolyn White for their efforts in coordinating the event and decorating the function room

To the Class of 2024, thank you for your invaluable contributions to our school community. As you embark on this next chapter, step forward with confidence and embrace the opportunities ahead.

Wishing you all the best in whatever the future holds!

Foundation Transition

Our future Foundies are settling in beautifully during their Transition Program!

On their second visit, they enjoyed building friendships and getting to know their teacher, Mrs Cox, while exploring their new classroom. We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for this enthusiastic group of young learners!

VCE Students Get the Perfect Headstart on 2025 Studies

Our Year 10 and 11 students spent this week participating in the Headstart program, diving into Unit 1 and 3 coursework for their VCE and VCE Vocational Major subjects. To keep the learning fun and engaging, many classes incorporated hands-on activities to wrap up the year.

Exciting new subjects like Modern History and Systems Engineering are joining an already diverse line up of offerings in 2025, including Maths Methods, Food Studies, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Business Management, Physical Education, and Health and Human Development As you can see, there are options aplenty for our students as they reach the VCE level, ensuring they can pursue a career pathway that suits their skills and interests.

On Thursday, a group of Year 7, 8, and 9 students attended a brief Remembrance Day service at Cobram Regional Care. It was a pleasure joining the residents, Cobram RSL representatives, and other schools in honouring those who served and sacrificed for our country.

Lest we forget.
