through W.'s eye is a montage by visual artist Hans Overvliet with some 70 short videos about all kinds of manifestations of water.
Together with his wife Willy van Houtumfor his art practice - they visited several European countries. Hans’ awareness, that together for more than 45 years they shared art, landscapes, architecture, people etc., inspired him looking through Willy’s eye to the phenomenon of water. Thus sharing her fascination with this ever changing element. Like an old wisdom says: you cannot step into the same river twice.
Hans made the videos with his phone, from a single vantage point, without zoom or camera movement. Jochem Westrate edited the film by using a short cross-fade.
