Fortnite: Battle Royale has an evolving narrative which has grown throughout the Seasons and is present in map changes, Quests, live events, cinematic experiences, comics and more.

Before Chapter 1 In the beginning, there was Nothing. Then, in a burst of pure creation, The Zero Point sprang into being.

Countless realities originated from The Zero Point, each its own universe, with its own multiverse - and as a whole, an Omniverse. In real life, this event is known as the ‘Big Bang’. The location of The Zero Point is Reality Zero, the origin reality containing The Zero Point. Over 1000 years ago, Geno discovered The Zero Point. He founded the Imagined Order to control and enslave it underneath an artifical Island. With its power, they travelled to different Realities, hiring more scientists.

Scientists who joined the Island Management Team would be granted immortality, and their home worlds would be protected by the IO. Agent Jones was the first to jump into The Zero Point to see what happened, creating his first Snapshot,Jonesy The First, on The Island. The IO used The Zero Point to travel to different Realities in their plan to perfect them and create the ideal civilization, trapping people in The Island’s Loop for research, disastrously affecting the development of worlds. They utilize The Loop, a 22 minute time loop that is used to trap anyone who arrives on the Island, erasing their memory and rendering them unable to speak. The Loop uses The Storm to push combatants together over the 22 minute period, eventually closing all the way in and eliminating anyone trapped in it. If someone is to be the last standing in the loop, at the exact closing point of the storm, they will escape the loop, and wake up in the same spot they left, with all of the Loop’s effects gone, yet still trapped on the Island.

Eventually, The Imagined Order began experimenting with The Loop, kidnapping people from different realities and trapping them on the island, where they fought again and again in a Battle Royale. The IO also creates Bunker Hatches to

The Bridge. Geno sends his daughters into the Loop, confident that they were so perfect, they would be the first to escape the loop. When his daughters finally manage to escape the loop, Geno had already replaced them with stronger Snapshots of themselves. On the Ice Moon, The Ice Kingdom, led by The Ice King, travelled across realities with allies to collect powerful technology, artifacts, and beings too dangerous to exist. When The Ice King’s staunchest comrade argued to use their collected items to alter realities to their liking, The Ice King froze him and all his knights in his fortress. The Ice King brought The Ice Moon to Reality Zero before freezing himself to sleep forever, leaving The Ice Moon to orbit Reality Zero. A group of seven members form together with the aim of destroying the IO, and liberating The Zero Point. The Foundation is the leader of the group. The Cube King joins as The Origin and Geno’s daughters join as The Imagined and The Order. The other members join, better known as The Visitor, The Scientist, and The Paradigm. The Seven fear Geno, as he and the Imagined Order, with the control of The Zero Point, can cause potential catastrophic damage to The Omniverse as a whole. The Seven develop sealed environment suits as a way to enter and leave The Loop anytime they want without being affected by the Loop’s effects. The Paradigm left the Seven and joined the IO temporarily.

Chapter 1: The initial Fortnite storyline revolved around the battle between the forces of good and evil, with characters like the Visitor and the Cube (Kevin) playing significant roles. The Cube caused various map changes and events during its presence in Chapter 1. Chapter 1 concluded with a massive in-game event that sucked the entire island into a black hole, signaling the end of that chapter and leading to the launch of Chapter 2. Chapter 2 introduced a new island with its own set of characters and locations. The storyline continued to involve the Zero Point, the Seven, and various other elements. Each season brought its own unique events and changes to the island. Fortnite often features collaboration events with popular franchises, bringing characters and elements from other universes into the game. These events sometimes contribute to the overall lore in unexpected ways. The next major concept for Fortnite lore is the loop. This is something the IO enforces on the island. It’s a 22-minute time loop that traps everyone on the island to prevent them from fighting back. Essentially, it’s the lore reasoning behind the circular games in Fortnite, including the storm.

The IO’s experiments in dropping others into the Loop even explain how so many crossovers come into the game. At various points groups and figures have tried to stop them, including Jonsey. While that’s the main plotline, the Fortnite lore has gone on a lot of different tangents over the years. There’s the Cubes, Cube Queen Ice King, and the Foundation with the Rock as its leader. There’s been a lot of lore and different storylines.

That’s roughly the background behind the Fortnite games and its lore though. Along the way one island gets destroyed, and a new one is made, that island flips over to reveal a new Island, then gets smashed up and rearranged as another new one. Those end of Chapter events are flashy but it’s difficult to keep track of just how the island works when you consider the different ways, we’ve gotten new maps. In terms of lore for the current season, we’ve very much gone off on a tangent again. Kado Thorne has stolen Mythics from past Loops and stashed them in his hideouts.

Players are trying to heist them all back, but Kado’s fierce vampire form is definitely making that difficult. Fortnite Lore in C4 S4 has gotten even more complicated with the reveal of a time machine.

Kado no only has a ton of Mythic weapons but apparently a machine capable of travelling in time.

Nolan Chance and his crew are attempting to steal it though.
