Shared Services White Paper The Connecticut Association of School Business Officialsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; (CASBO) first edition white paper on consolidation shared services was published in 2003 and has recently been revised to update that information. It was felt that more practical information was needed in terms of the pros and cons of different types of cooperation and case studies, copies of formal contracts and the like, would serve community leaders and public officials better. The paper is broken down into nine major categories: 1. Health, Dental, Liability, Property and Workerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Compensation Insurance 2. Maintenance of Parks, Athletic
Fields, Buildings, Grounds and Vehicles 3. Computer Hardware, Software, Financial Management Systems and Information Technology Staffing 4. Shared Finance Office and Operations 5. Co-Operative Purchasing, Bidding and Purchasing Consortiums and Regional Education Service Centers (RESCs). 6. Human Resources and Negotiations with Certified Staff 7. The CABE/CAPSS Convention Committee is delighted to announce that Tony Wagner will be our Friday morning (November 18) General Session speaker at the CABE/CAPSS Convention. Dr. Wagner currently serves as an Expert In Residence at Harvard Universityâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s new Innovation Lab and as a Senior Research Fellow at the Learning Policy Institute, founded by Linda DarlingHammond in 2015. Prior to these appointments, Tony was the first Innovation Education Fellow at the Technology & Entrepreneurship Center at Harvard, and the founder and co-director of the Change Leadership Group at the Harvard Graduate School of Education for more than a decade.
His previous work experience includes twelve years as a high school teacher, K-8 principal, university professor in teacher education, and founding executive direc-tor of EducaTony Wagner tors for Social Responsibility. Dr. Wagner is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and a widely published author. His work includes numerous articles and six books.
