Biography of Lady Joey Johnson-Warren

I was raised in Morganton, NC and was a member of First Church of God in Lenoir, NC for most of my life. I have a deep family history with the Church of God with my great grandmother being one of the founding members of my home church. She along with others hosted church services in her living room prior to moving into their first church building. I loved to sing in the choir, assisted with children’s ministry and served on the Finance Committee. I accepted the Lord as my personal savior in my early 20’s. It happened on an evening when I least expected it and since then my life hasn’t been the same.

I moved to the Triad, NC area as a young adult to further my career in banking and finance. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Gardner Webb University and continued my studies at Gardner Webb earning a Master of Business Administration in International Business with a minor in Health Care Management. While studying for my MBA I completed an internship in Switzerland and Italy, which coincided with my love of travel and experiencing different cultures. This gave me exposure to daily life in a foreign country where people had different values, beliefs and customs from what I was accustomed to. This experience helped me to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the differences that make each of us unique.

I have worked in Banking and Finance for 27 years and I’m currently a Financial Center Manager III at Allegacy Federal Credit Union. I serve as a board member for the Northwest Chapter of Credit Unions. I also serve on the following at Allegacy: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council Member, DE+I Charter & Transition Committees, Employee Experience Focus Group and “Sankofa”, which is a Black/African American Employee Resource Group. I volunteer at numerous community events sponsored by Allegacy and was instrumental in leading and launching the first Student Run Credit Union in North Carolina in 2008. This program has grown to nine student run credit union locations throughout Forsyth County which promotes financial well-being within our school communities.

I’m passionate about volunteering my time and talents in underserved communities, mentoring youth and young adults, spending time with my family, traveling and serving in ministry. I lead a monthly Financial Empowerment Workshop at the Victory Center which helps to prepare people to purchase their 1st home, savings strategies, budgeting, building and repairing credit and creating generational wealth. I have a heart to serve God’s people and to do my part in helping them reach their God given potential.

I am a proud mom to one son, Savon, who is a graduate of UNCG. I’m happily married to my best friend, Apostle Timothy L. Warren. I enjoy serving beside of my husband in ministry and assisting with the Women’s Ministry and Finance Ministry for The Victory Center and Covenant Global Consortium. I’m honored to be the First Lady of The Victory Center and Covenant Global Consortium. I’m excited and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us and everyone that we’re connected to.
