TANYA COLE 15 Years in Real Estate What led you to become a Realtor®?

What initially piqued my interest in becoming a Realtor, is way back when, there used to be a HOMES magazine published every week with all the listings in that area’s MLS. I remember as a little girl going through the HOMES magazine with my mom every Sunday. We would circle the houses we liked, and we would circle the houses we would dream of having. It was time we spent together. From time to time, we would go to open houses and my mom would add her 2 cents about the houses, but I learned a lot. After getting my Business Management degree and running factories, I knew I didn’t want to do that for the rest of my life. I am a very customer serviced oriented person, and that is one trait you need to have in this business! Being able to use those traits to help clients purchase a home seemed liked it was a win win!

What are you most passionate about as a Realtor®?

As a Realtor customer service is big for me. However, what I am most passionate about is not letting clients settle for a home. When I do a buyer’s consultation, we discuss everything, from the area they want to live, to what they want the back yard to look like. When clients find a home and I hear them say “well we could make that work, or that wouldn’t be that bad” they are settling, and that is one thing I will not let them do!

What drives you to be successful, in your buisness?

I am driven to be successful in my business for a few different reasons. First off, I have had clients come to me who have met with other agents who told them they would not be able to purchase. I am a person who can think out of the box, and I can get some very difficult deals to the closing table. That gives me a great sense of accomplishment. Second, I love when clients tell others about me. That is the best compliment any agent can get.

Lastly, even though I own my own business, I like to make my team leader proud of what I do!

What is your favorite part about being a realtor®?

Being a Realtor means to me, is building relationships that last a lifetime with my clients. Doing what it takes to get my clients the home of their dreams. People may not know that I am originally from Michigan, I’m an only child, and that I have a Business Management degree from Northwood University. I am also a certified paralegal. That helps a lot with dealing with contracts and negotiating on my client’s behalf.
