Advice from Longtime BYU Education Week Attendees

• Mark your first- and second-choice class preferences for each hour.

• Bring a light sweater—some classrooms are cooler than others. And wear comfortable shoes!

• Carry a small notebook or tablet for class notes. Rather than trying to write down everything, write the things that are most meaningful to you.

• Expand your interests and take advantage of new learning opportunities by attending one or two classes each year that you would not typically choose.

• Visit with the people around you. It’s a good way to get to know good people, and they may recommend great classes you might otherwise miss.

• Avoid restroom lines by using facilities in buildings and on floors where classes are not held.

• Ask a friend or family member to drop you off at BYU each day. If this is not possible, save time by parking west of the stadium and taking a shuttle.

• Ride the rapid transit Utah Valley Express (UVX). See rideuta.com for details.

Classroom Etiquette

These guidelines show respect and courtesy for everyone and provide a pleasant atmosphere during BYU Education Week.

• Remember to silence your cell phone before class begins.

• Please follow the directions of the hosting staff—they help maintain the order needed for a successful program.

• Remember that classes are first-come, first-served, and saving seats is not permitted.

• Position your name badge so the hosting staff can readily see it.

• Other than water, please do not eat or drink in the classrooms. (The Marriott Center is the exception.)

• Lectures may not be recorded or broadcast.

• Ask questions or make comments only when invited to do so by the presenter.

• Refrain from asking presenters about their published works. The BYU Store carries items recommended by presenters for BYU Education Week students.

• Please do not leave class early or applaud after testimonies.

Thank you!

We hope you enjoy BYU Education Week.

The special tribute to Janice Kapp Perry recognizes a lifetime of music that continues to echo in our homes and hearts. Along with cherished favorite songs, the evening will include meaningful stories, special moments, and a few surprises you won’t want to miss.

This will be an unforgettable celebration—an evening of inspiration, connection, and the songs you’ve held close for years!

Hello, Dolly!

Monday and Tuesday, August 18–19, 8:00 p.m.
