Christopher is a boy with Asperger's Syndrome who lives with his father in Swindon. One night he discovers the corpse of Wellington, his neighbor's poodle, pierced by a garden gallows. Mrs. Tijeras, owner of the dog, calls the police, who begins to interrogate the boy. Christopher begins to feel agitated by so many questions, and one of the officers tries to grab him by an arm, which causes the boy to hit and take him to the police station until his father recognizes him. Christopher decides how to investigate the case to solve the mystery of Wellington's death. However, his research is severely limited by his fears and difficulties in interpreting the world around him. During his investigation, Christopher was forced to come into contact with people he had never met, a regret that they lived in the same street.
