Celebrating four outstanding alums
On Dec. 6, City Year hosted its first-ever virtual Homecoming celebration for all 29 U.S. sites, where along with fun games and reminiscences, this year’s Alumni Leadership Award winners were announced! We’re so proud of our nearly 40,000 alums and we’re excited to honor these four new award recipients, each of whom exemplifies one of City Year’s key values: Social justice for all.
City Year highlighted during NFL Thursday Night Football!
You may have seen a familiar City Year Red Jacket appear on NFL Thursday Night Football and the NFL Network last month! The NFL’s Inspire Change initiative, a City Year national partner, highlighted the service of Buffalo AmeriCorps member Josh Dean in a spot about mentorship. Missed it? Check it out here!

Catching up and keeping up in the classroom
Walk through some of the work AmeriCorps members do with City Year Philadelphia in their latest City Year 101 series. Social-emotional learning supports are “the foundation of trust and mutual respect that can be leveraged throughout the year and will serve as the basis for their academic work.”
